Want firmer skin? Try one of these serums......

The best firming serums

Ageing is a privilege, so please don't think that I think that I am actually 'anti-ageing' but that doesn't mean that I'm happy at the idea of sagging skin or jowls. That being said, I personally don't want to go down the road of fillers or botox (never say never and each to their own) so I just do what I can to keep my skin looking firm and youthful for as long as possible. As I have said previously, I personally think that if you are going to invest in any product in your skincare routine, it should be your serum as that will penetrate the skin more deeply than moisturiser, which in turn means that the active ingredients can actually get to work, which is especially important in firming serums. As you can tell from the photo above, I take skincare that promises to firm the skin seriously and I want to share some of my favourites with you! As always, any marked with a * were kindly gifted to me but without any obligation to post. This is not an ad. If I have previously reviewed any product, I will link to it.

Prai Ageless Throat & Decolletage Serum:  I reviewed this on the blog last year (here) along with the matching neck cream, which I don't have at the moment but I have used three jars of it so I obviously love it and need to repurchase soon. This serum encourages collagen production, which in turn strengthens and elasticizes the skin. Most neck products are very rich but this is lightweight, absorbs quickly, layers well and makes a visible difference very quickly. I also love the rollerball applicator, as I get a massage while applying it. Use the code LYMIN to receive 20% discount at checkout on Look Fantastic.

Prai Platinum Firm & Lift Serum: Another from this brand, which I received in a beauty box. This Platinum range is aimed at those who are older than me (post-menopausal) but I wanted to try it anyway as I find that my illness and the treatment for it has taken its toll on my skin, so if something aims to improve elasticity, why not give it a go is how I look at it. This serum contains platinum (hence the name), chlorella, red algae and SYN-COLL™ which is Prai's signature extract. This combination of ingredients combine to increase the elasticity of the skin, protect against free radicals, and hydrate and plump the skin. The texture is surprisingly light, given the ingredients list and it layers well with other products. Skin is definitely left feeling firm, bouncy and lifted. I am going to buy this for my mother as I know she'll love it.

Dermalogica Phyto Nature Firming Serum*: This was kindly sent to me as part of their #skinfluencer programme and it pains me that I am almost finished it! I have a full review here but one of the things I love most about this serum is that it can be used all over the face and neck - even in the under eye area! I particularly noticed the difference in my naso-labial folds and general, overall lifting of my face, particularly in the dreaded jowl area.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair: My most repurchased skincare product EVER!  This serum does it all - it repairs, hydrates, plumps, firms and regenerates the skin. It's a slow burner in terms of results, in fact some people say that they don't notice what it does for their skin until they stop using it and then realise that their skin is looking dull, tired and saggy, so it's one you must use consistently to see results. Full review here.

Image Ageless Total Pure Hyaluronic Filler*: I cannot rave about this serum enough - it's pricey but so, so worth it for the plumping, firming results it gives. It contains six forms of hyaluronic acid and has a beautiful silky texture, which layers well with other products. It lifts, plumps and diminishes fine lines. Forget botox and invest in this! Full review here.

L'Occitane Overnight Reset Serum*: I called this sleep in a bottle in my review here. It is used after cleansing but before another serum/moisturiser etc and within 7 days, skin looks more rested but over time, skin is smoother in texture and firmer in general. It's a product that deserves a lot more hype and I really want to try the eye version soon!

Omorovicza Rose Lifting Serum*: The firming answer for very sensitive skin! It contains Sea Mayweed, an ingredient that I hadn't heard of prior to using this serum, but it is said to help muscles relax- thus. encouraging the diminishing of fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains ruby crystals, natural polysaccharides, both of which firm the skin and also fade fine lines. As with all Omorovicza products, it contains their patented Thermal Healing Concentrate ™, which makes all of their products soothing, although active and suitable for even the most sensitive skin.It has an unusual scent - not particularly rose-like, however it soon dissipates. The texture is very, very lightweight yet skin feels immediately tighter and I find it particularly effective on my forehead but it works well all over the face.

Omorovicza Gold Night Drops*: What a beautiful product - an all rounder that firms and nourishes the skin and leaves it looking brighter and well rested overnight. The texture is quite rich but it absorbs quickly and instantly feels nourishing on the skin. Skin feels firmer, bouncier and looks more youthful. I can see this being a constant repurchase for me and is up there with ANR in terms of how I rate it.

I would love to hear what your favourite firming serums are? Have you tried any that I've mentioned here?
