Ark skincare review

Ark skincare is a brand that has been on my radar for a few years, thanks to Susie Amy talking so passionately about the brand but they weren't always easy to access. Thankfully, they are now sold on Look Fantastic and Feel Unique. What makes this brand so unique from others is that rather than have products to deal with different skin types/issues, the products are based around age and the issues that occur at each stage, right from the teenage years to 50 and beyond. If you are someone who still gets spots in their 30s or 40s. don't worry, you can still buy targeted products but if you want to simplify your regime or are quite new to skincare and don't know where to start then the three ranges make life much easier. The ranges are Age Protect, Age Defend and Age Defy and all are vegan and cruelty free. I was kindly sent four products to try back in February and am ready to share my thoughts with you today.

Skin Essential and Pre Cleanse Makeup Remover: I've been double cleansing for around 14 years - back then it was probably the same cleansing product used twice but for at least the last 10 years, I've liked to use a separate makeup remover first. This one feels really nourishing on the skin, which is little surprise given that it contains avocado and kiwi oil, grapeseed oil; a blend of Omegas 3,6 & 9. It also contains Margosa Leaf Extract, which destroys bacteria and Zi Cao, which soothes the skin - perfect for sensitive skin like mine. It's applied to dry skin and then massaged in before rinsing to remove. I love that it melts my makeup and doesn't sting my eyes, however I do find that I need to rub a little or go in a second time when wearing waterproof liquid liner. It doesn't leave my eyes cloudy, which is a real bonus. Currently 20% off at Feel Unique.

Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser: Ok, if any of my blogger friends have used this product before, why have you not told me about it?! I really love this for my morning cleanse and I'm not fully sure how to describe it as it's not quite a gel as it's a lighter texture than that - like a light face wash that doesn't foam. You apply it on to damp skin, massage it in and then rinse. Skin isn't left feeling tight or stripped nor does it feel like there is a hydrating layer of product on my skin, even though it is packed with oils, including Olive Oil, Orange Peel, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Kiwi, passionfruit and more  - it just feels clean! As a beauty blogger, some products stay in daily rotation after the initial testing period has passed - this is definitely on of them and one that I will repurchase. Hydrating Beauty Mist:  I use a mist daily, both morning and night and sometimes throughout the day so I love to get the chance to try a new one. I like a mist that will actually do something for my skin - not just a water mist, and this one ticks that box. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, which attracts and holds up to 1000 times its weight in hydration, aloe vera and wild water mint, both of which soothe the skin and amino acids, which soften the skin. The mist action isn't the finest but it also doesn't squirt in my face - it could just do with being a little gentler.  I can get over that though because I love how refreshed, soothed and hydrated my skin feels after I use it. Hydrating Serum: Now you all know I love a good hydrating serum and this is a great one! I love the silky texture that just melts into the skin rather than sitting on it, yet it still feels hydrating. It's packed with hydrating ingredients that not only plump the skin but also increase its elasticity and the appearance of fine lines. It layers well with other products without any risk of pilling. Over a number of weeks, skin looks brighter, plump and less tired overall and I can tell you that this is no mean feat given how ill I have been for the past 9 weeks! I am so pleased that this brand lived up to the hype for me - it was well worth the wait for me to try it but I recommend that if any of these products catch your eye, you try them sooner rather than later, especially when you can save 20%. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
