Have you entered my beauty bundle giveaway here?
Regular readers will know that over the last 18 months or so, I've grown to love Danish brand, Ecooking (review here). I was kindly gifted some of their new Spring releases and a top up of two of my favourite products from the brand. The timing couldn't have been better because the parcel arrived at the start of my isolation period, when I was feeling rotten and I don't know about you, but a good pamper always makes me feel better! If you don't know much about the brand, it started in the kitchen of the owner and the products are sustainable, vegan and organic. Keep reading to the end to find out how to win a bundle of these products for yourself! To save 20% of any Ecooking products on their site, use the code beautylymin. This code is not affiliated.
Hand Soap With Scrub: Honestly, this couldn't have come at a better time! A 500ml of hand soap that also gently exfoliates the skin. It uses natural lava stone to exfoliate the skin and to balance this, it also includes aloe vera to calm the skin. It also contains Amino Acids, which increase collagen production and elasticity in the skin. I couldn't count how many times a day I am washing my hands at the moment (the same as everyone else!) so I'm grateful to have a soap that doesn't leave it feeling stripped plus the fact that it's a 500ml bottle is brilliant as it should last quite a while. I also love that it has a pump so it's easy to just dispense the right amount without any waste. The package is compostable.
Body Scrub: I love that this scrub is quite oily as it really doesn't feel like it strips the skin, yet it is a very effective exfoliator. It contains sunflower, argan, kukui oils and nourishing shea butter and Vitamin E, all of which hydrate the skin. To exfoliate, it contains Sicilian salt, which removes dead skin cells and also improves blood circulation. I use this once weekly and focus extra attention on elbows, knees, ankles etc. The result is smooth, soft skin. It's a large 300ml tub, which should last quite a while with once weekly use.
Self Tanning Mousse: I'm a weekly tanner and am quite fussy because if I go to the effort of tanning, I want it to have a nice colour and to be even and streak-free. This tan contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin and cucumber, all of which hydrate the skin, which is brilliant as some tans (particularly mousse formulas) can be quite drying. DHA is what gives the skin the tan colour and that is derived from sugar beet and sugar cane. I like that the mousse isn't too foaming so it doesn't absorb into the mitt too much, instead it just glides on to the skin very evenly. It has a hint of natural golden guide colour so that you can see where you are applying it. I tend to apply at night and I have to say that it doesn't stink of biscuits like most tans do. I have found that it doesn't stain the sheets and when I wash the guide colour off, I am left with a very even, natural golden tan. I really love this and it's my favourite of the new releases. Even during lockdown/isolation, I'm still tanning as it makes me feel better!
Micellar Water: The final of the new releases that I've tried. I tend to use micellar waters to take my makeup off if I have my lash extensions as I don't use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup when I have them. Some micellar waters are drying but this couldn't be more different. It contains aloe leaf and cucumber, both of which calm and soothe the skin and Vitamin C to brighten the skin. Unlike other micellar waters, this has a spray but rather than spraying directly on to my face (which you can do if you choose), I spray on to cotton wool pads and then remove my makeup. It removes even waterproof liquid liner and all other makeup in just one swipe! A little goes a long way with this micellar water. If you keep an eye on my Instastories, you'll see when I finish it as that's where I share my empties.
Body Lotion: This isn't a new release but I love this body lotion because although it's really nourishing, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I can apply it and get dressed straight after as it absorbs quickly. I always apply a small amount to my elbows, knees, ankles, hands before tanning, which ensures that the tan doesn't cling to those areas. I wear body lotion daily but even if you don't this is still a good pick as it's so nourishing that skin will be hydrated for a few days.
Peel Mask: This isn't a new release either but it is such a brilliant mask. If you have ever wanted to try Drunk Elephant Baby Facial, which isn't available in the EU, this is a brilliant alternative. It really helps to retexturise the skin, refine the pores and get rid of those annoying little under the skin bumps. It works in a matter of minutes but it does leave skin looking a little red, although not at all sore. For that reason, I'd recommend using in the evening. Full review here.
