Nars Narsissist Lip Pencil Set

Nars Narsissist Lip Kit Review

I don't know about you, but one of my favourite things about going on holiday is having a stroll around World Duty Free to see what bargains are to be had and what new brands they are stocking! In fact, I did just that on Monday after spending the long weekend with my In-Laws and I was seriously impressed by the range of brands available. Even if you aren't flying yourself but know someone who is, you can avail of the Reserve & Collect option whereby you can browse the site then reserve the products you want and pay in store (or ask whoever is flying to collect & pay for you!). I personally love having a look at the travel exclusives and limited edition sets because anything that you can't buy on the high street, makes it that extra bit special. One such set is this Nars NARSissist Lip Pencil Set.

I already own some Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils - Damned is the perfect Autumn berry shade and the one that made me fall in love with the formula. They are velvet matte, as the name suggests - for me, that makes them a very wearable matte as they aren't at all drying on the lips. I also find them to be very long-lasting and the two shades I have fade nicely without leaving that weird outline that some matte lipsticks do. Another brilliant thing about these lip pencils is the pigmentation, which you will see in the photo below - one swipe and you have completely opaque lips.

The NARSissist Lip Pencil Set contains three Velvet Matte Lip Pencils and a pencil sharpener, housed in a stunning red compact with a large mirror inside the lid. On the high street, these pencils are priced at £21 each, which makes this trio set excellent value at only £41.20 - a saving of £21.80 plus the price of the sharpener!

Nars Matte Velvet Lip Pencil Swatches Dolce Vita, Dragon Girl Red Square
Swatches completely unedited. From top to bottom: Dolce Vita, Dragon Girl, Red Square.

The three shades included are:

Dolce Vita, which is a beautiful dusky rose perfect for everyday wear.
Dragon Girl, which is a bold pinky red.
Red Square, which is a bold orange-toned red.

Although the shades are very bold, they are all very wearable and you can't help but feel empowered when wearing the reds! I also find with these pencils that I don't need a separate liner as I can get a precise application with the pencil. The formula also doesn't drag on the lips or dry hem out at all so these pencils are an all round winner!

Like I said, this is a limited edition set and it's priced at £41.20 so if you're passing through the airport soon or know somebody who is, and like matte lip options, I would highly recommend picking this up!

Have you tried Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils? What are you most drawn to in Duty Free - skincare, makeup, fragrance or booze? I'd love to hear!
