Five budget beauty loves....

Five budget beauty loves 2025

Has anyone else noticed recently that 'budget' beauty brands are actually a lot pricier than expected? I guess that makeup in general, has increased a lot in price in the past year or so (along with everything else!). That said, we can always rely on good old Boots for a good deal or Look Fantastic, where my  BEAUTYLYMIN code will save us 21%. I loved looking in Walgreens when I was in the U.S. in January at all of the budget beauty brands - there aren't many (any?) that we can't get over here now so I didn't buy very much as the exchange rate was particularly unfavourable at that point.  L'Oreal is probably my favourite budget beauty brand because the products perform really well and a lot are very comparable with higher end brands. They do base and eye products particularly well. Today, I have a roundup of my current top five budget beauty buys....

L'Oreal Paris Le Skinny Brow (Brow Stylist Definer in the U.S.): This is pretty much a dupe for ABH Brow Wiz. The nib is very fine so you can easily fill in gaps in the brows and mimic the appearance of brow hairs. I love that it's retractable, has a spoolie and the texture of the product itself isn't too hard so that it drags nor so soft that it smudges. A total win!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 8 Hr Lip Liner: It's hard to find anything for less than £5 these days but this lip liner is a great buy! I don't like my lip pencils to be too dry or stiff in texture and this one is neither. I find that this liner is pigmented, easy to use and lasts a really long time on the lips. I just wish that it was retractable!

ELF Halo Glow Blush Beauty Wand: Ii won't say that it's a dupe of CT beauty wands, but it's pretty similar! It has a cushion applicator, adds luminosity to the cheeks within the blush shade and is easy to blend. It's hydrating and really makes the cheeks look plump and juicy. A lot more affordable than CT too!

L'Oreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5 Minute Lamination Treatment: If you want a glass-like shine from your hair, you need to get your hands on this product! It smoothes the hair, which helps light to bounce off it. Cuticles are sealed, leaving the hair feeling and looking silky. As the name suggests, you apply for 5 minutes (after shampoo and conditioner) and then rinse and style. Be prepare for lots of compliments on how glossy your hair is!

Nivea Soft: I used to use this years ago when it was first released and then got distracted by other products but started to use it again last September when I had to use unscented body products before entering the clinic I'm attending in the U.S. as so many people are sensitive to scented products. I'm glad that I had reason to rediscover it because my skin loves it! It contains jojoba oil and vitamin E, which really nourish the skin and leave it feeling supple. I love how quickly and easily it absorbs and how soft my skin feels when using it. A really bargain for this large tub at under £10!

What are your favourite budget beauty brands/products? I'd love to hear!
