At this time of year when there are more late nights (and sometimes early starts!) than usual, plus consuming food and drinks that we might ordinarily keep to a minimum, our skin can tell tales on us. Between dark circles, puffy eyes, dehydration, our skin will let us know when it isn't happy. I think we all want to look our best during the holidays so take a look my my product recommendations for plump and hydrated skin!
Eye Patches: I love using an eye patch/mask for instant revival in the area that can often show signs of tiredness first. These Pixi NutrifEYE Eye Patches do a great job at plumping the under eye area. I pop them on in the morning for around 10 minutes (on clean skin) and then pat any residual serum into my skin. They soothe and nourish the skin, leaving it looking fresh! I follow up with an eye cream and a great one for this time of year is Sunday Riley Autocorrect because it helps to depuff the eyes as well as brighten dark circles because it has a hint of colour to it. Fresher eyes in an instant!
A great way to plump dehydrated skin is to use an essence and my favourite is Omorovicza Omoressence. This is really soothing, so will help any redness in the skin, and it instantly hydrates as it contains hyaluronic acid and glycerin. I just pat a few drops into my skin after cleansing and then wait around 2 minutes before proceeding with the rest of my routine. Instant hydration guaranteed for plump skin!
Serums are essential to any skincare routine as they give both instant results and long-term benefits. My top pick at the moment that I would highly recommend is Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Serum. This serums combines vegan collagen with resveratrol and hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen production, which in turn leads to firmer skin and diminished fine lines and wrinkles. I find this serum great for helping the skin glow and appear instantly brighter - definitely needed when there are late nights!
Moisturiser is very important when trying to achieve plump and youthful skin and I really rate Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. This moisturiser instantly quenches thirsty skin, plus it soothes, nourishes and brightens too. It contains hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, vitamins C and E and camelia oil amongst others ingredients. I find that a little goes a long way and it really replenishes and brightens the skin for a fresh look!
If my skin is feeling particularly dry and dehydrated, I like to add a few drops of oil during the day or to seal my moisturiser at night. One of my favourites is Pixi Rose Oil Blend*, which contains a blend of rosehip, geranium, jojoba, sweet almond and pomegranate oils. It absorbs well, is really nourishing and improves the elasticity of the skin.
To instantly take 5 years off my face and neck, I love to use Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask. This plumps and brightens the skin, protects against environmental aggressors. It contains Vitamins A, C and E As well as Pro Vitamin B5. It has a beautiful creamy texture and feels super nourishing on the skin. I just love how plump and bright my skin looks after I use this and it's an essential element of my festive skincare lineup.
This is my final post of 2024 so I want to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and I will be back in January!
