As I age I find that I reach for traditional face masks less frequently and skincare tools more often. There is no doubt that we need to use effective products that will deliver results that will last more than a day or two, as we get older. One of the most effective products I have found for making a real, visible difference to my skin is the Currentbody LED mask, which I reviewed here last year. I absolutely loved that mask so you can imagine my delight when I was offered the chance to try the new version: Currentbody LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2*. It came at a time when my skin wasn't its usual self, due to the new medical treatment that I am on. My skin was extra dry and also very inflamed and really needed something to revive it. I am delighted to be able to share my discount code (LYMINCB), which usually saves you 10% but until Monday at midnight (December 2nd), it's been doubled to a whopping 20% discount!). This mask is not just for those who are seeing the signs of ageing as it will also work for those who have rosacea. Please read on for my thoughts...
If you are new to LED masks then let me tell you what LED light will do for you. It will stimulate collagen production and elastin for an overall more youthful look, as well as having anti-inflammatory capabilities. However, not all LED masks are the same. I truly believe that if you are paying for one, you need to get the most effective one. I tried a different brand previously but the results were nowhere near as pronounced as with this one.So you might be wondering what the difference is between the Series 1 and the Series 2 masks. The latter is definitely a more enhanced experience in many ways. The mask itself is made from liquid silicone, which makes it more flexible and a better fit for the face overall. Because it fits the face more precisely, the LED can penetrate the skin more effectively as there is no gap between your skin and the mask on any area of the face. What I really love about this mask is that it also fits under the chin now, which is really brilliant as targeting the jawline, will help to ward off the dreaded jowls, due to the collagen stimulation.
It has more than twice the number of LED lights (236 to be precise!) than the first mask. The lights are in three different wavelengths, each targets different skin concerns. The red lights help to reduce redness and improve skin texture. Near infrared lights penetrate the skin more deeply to improve collagen production and elastin in the skin, which means that skin looks more youthful. Deep near infrared goes further to encourage cellular renewal and target deep wrinkles. It also has more lights around the eye and mouth areas, which show the signs of ageing more quickly than the rest of the face (think nasolobial folds and crow's feet).
When I received the mask, my skin was very inflamed and sore, it was also more dry than usual. I can't say that the results are instant but they're not meant to be. It took a few weeks for my skin to look less inflamed and feel less sore but my healing is slow at the moment because my body is using so much energy healing internally. I haven't had it long enough to see a huge difference in pigmentation but I am confident that this will just take time because the Series 1 was very effective in this regard. I will post an update after a few more months as I want to get the full experience before sharing results. On this note, please remember that with my current health situation, healing is taking longer than it usually would. That being said, I have been told (and can see myself) that my skin is glowing and I feel that it's more bouncy, so I am really looking forward to seeing long-term results.
It only takes 10 minutes to use (on clean, dry skin) and can be used 3-5 times a week.
If you are seeing signs of ageing, I really don't think you could do anything better for your skin than invest in Currentbody LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2. I always look for discounts before I buy anything so I am really delighted that I have a 20% discount code for you: LYMINCB will save you 20% this Cyber weekend, after which it will be reduced to 10%.
