Hello! I'm back from the longest break that I've ever taken from the blog. I had a lot of things going on and I've always said that I only ever want to blog when my heart is in it and I would have been just churning out posts if I hadn't taken a break, which is something that I never want to do. I also felt the pressure of leaving the blog live without any new posts, so I just removed that 'stress' from my life for a while. I did consider quitting blogging completely as the landscape has changed so much but then I received some messages asking where my blog had gone as people missed reading my posts and I've missed posting too so now feels like the right time to come back and I thought that a skincare post was the most obvious choice, so I'm sharing my top five products from one of my favourite brands; Sunday Riley. In all honesty, it's very hard to narrow it down to just five because I've yet to encounter a disappointing product from this brand, named after its founder. All products are effective and results-driven and I can definitely see an improvement in my skin with consistent use. There's currently 20% off selected products from the brand on Sephora.
Good Genes Glycolic Treatment: I've been using this for the past eight years and always have one in my stash. I can always see an improvement in my skin in terms of texture and radiance when I use this consistently and a negative difference if I ever take a break. It contains Glycolic Acid (as the name suggests!), which gently resurfaces the skin and also unclogs pores to leave skin looking clear and radiant and feeling smooth. It also contains Prickly Pear, which helps to calm the skin so I personally don't find that there is any redness associated with using this product and I have sensitive and quite reactive skin. Can be used both morning and night.
B3 Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum: Niacinamide is a powerful, yet gentle ingredient, which helps to brighten the skin whilst also reducing the appearance of pores. This serum also contains antioxidants, which protect the skin against environmental aggressors, and resveratrol, which reduces the appearance of fine lines. I find that this serum layers well with others without pilling and is suitable for everyday use.
C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum: Vitamin C is an ingredient which I can sometimes find tricky for my skin as it can sometimes cause redness if used too often but I can use this serum daily, despite the fact that it contains 15% Vitamin C in the form of THD Ascorbate. It brightens the skin to give a natural radiance, while strengthening the skin barrier and reducing the appearance of pores (it pairs beautifully with B3 serum). It helps to tackle the five signs of ageing: dullness, sensitivity, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, and dehydration. It's a powerful serum that works wonders when used daily.
Auto Correct Eye Contour Cream: If you suffer from puffy eyes, you seriously need this eye cream in your life! It contains caffeine, which helps to reduce puffiness, but also contains nourishing ingredients, such as shea butter and watermelon extract, which help to reduce the appearance of fine lines to give the under eye area a smoother look. This makes the eye area look brighter and less fatigued, but makeup also applies more evenly too.
Ice Ceramide Moisturising Cream: This is a dreamy moisturiser for those with dry skin! It is packed with ceramides and coconut water to replenish the skin and lock in moisture. It absorbs so easily and quickly, despite being quite rich in texture, and leaves the skin feeling plump, nourished and comfortable - a feeling that lasts for hours and hours after application!
So there we have it, my five favourite products from one of my top five brands! Plus my first post back after a two month break! It's good to be back! I'd love to hear fro you in the comments below.
