What I loved in February: TV/Film and Beauty...

Rodial Glass Skin Edit Review, Sunday Riley Ice Cermaide Moisturising Cream Review, Elemis Pro Collagen Green Fig Cleansing Balm Review

This month has really flown by! I had a month of posts planned and partially prepped but then life/health got in the way but I'm not complaining because it means that I'm ahead of schedule for March! I am really loving how bright it is in the evenings now and there really is a touch of Spring in the air, which is my favourite season for so many reasons. I hope that you've had a good February? Let's get into what I've been enjoying...

TV: The Greatest Night In Pop (Netflix): I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary, which looked back at the recording of "We Are The World" - a charity record that raised funds for the famine in Ethiopia, following in the footsteps of Band Aid "Do They Know It's Christmas". Lionel Richie is one of the main people to feature and he was hugely important to the whole thing as he co-wrote the song, helped reach out to some of the biggest names in pop, kept everything flowing on the night of the recording, kept egos in check and his enthusiasm shone through. He hosted the American Music Awards before going to the studio with a host of the greatest names in music, to record the charity single, which took until dawn. It showed the whole process of how it was decided which singers would sing certain lines, the hanging around until it was their turn, the phoning out for food, who got tired and left, who was enthusiastic until the end, and the general goodwill of the biggest names on the music scene at the time. It really is worth a watch!

One Day (Netflix): I'll start by saying that I preferred the film (and book) but this is still a good watch. It's based on two university students who meet on graduation night and shows their relationship/friendship on that same date over many years. They take different paths and have relationships but are there for each other in a way that nobody else can be, despite falling out and being worlds apart in terms of where their lives are at times. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but this is easily something you could binge watch when having a duvet day and the two main actors play their parts really well, their friendship is believable.

The Graham Norton Show: I don't know why I'm only mentioning this now when the season is over but it's a show that I look forward to every week. I love the format, the interaction among the guests - household names with rising stars, the musical act, the big red chair and of course, Graham himself! He is so warm and witty and instantly puts everyone at ease. I've discovered so many shows and books because of this show and I'll miss my Friday night fix! Two episodes looking back at highlights will be shown over the next two Friday nights on BBC1.

Film: Rustin (Netflix): Bayard Rustin helped Martin Luther King organise the famous 1963 march on Washington. He had a big influence on the non-violent element of protests, yet his name wasn't very well known because he was gay and was pretty much written out of popular history because of this. That is why this film is so important and I highly recommend watching to educate yourself and learn more about his influence on that march but also on Martin Luther King.

I really wanted to love One Love but came away from it feeling disappointed. I would have loved for it to be a biopic but it focused on two years ob Bob's life - important years after an assassination attempt, but I think there is so much more that an audience would have loved to see and know. My disappointment was nothing to do with the acting, I just wanted more.

Beauty: Elemis Pro Collagen Green Fig Cleansing Balm: I was in the mood for a new cleansing balm and I adore anything fig-scented so thought I'd give this a go because I love the formula of the original and used at least 10 pots before getting distracted by other products. I am IN LOVE with this balm and look forward to doing my skincare routine because it's such a sensorial experience owing to both the scent and texture. It melts all makeup/SPF/grime away when massaged into the skin and when removed (after emulsifying), my skin feels soft and smooth and looks radiant. I will definitely be repurchasing when finished but a little goes a long way! Save 21% here with my code BEAUTYLYMIN.

Sunday Riley Ice Ceramide Moisturising Cream: The weather has been a lot colder this month so I knew that I could depend on this moisturiser to replenish and nourish my skin. It's rich but absorbs easily without pilling and gives the skin a long-lasting moisturised feeling, whilst also protecting the skin barrier. A must have for dry skin in the colder months.

Rodial Glass Skin Edit: This is a great sampling set of four deluxe minis from the Glass Skin range - two blushes, a bronzer and highlighter. If you like the look of. plump, juicy skin then you need to get this set and then you can decide if you want to purchase any of the full sizes. The minis are generous in size, a little goes a long way and you can pat in with your fingers or use a beauty blender to apply.

I'd love to hear how your February was and what you enjoyed?
