New Charlotte Tilbury lip duo.....

New Charlotte Tilbury lip duo

Earlier this month, Charlotte Tilbury did a major drop of pink and red lipsticks in time for Valentine's Day! I love the formula of her lipsticks so decided to treat myself to a duo of lipstick and lip liner, both in the shade Icon Baby.

I rarely wear a red lip and some of the pink shades were too pink for me, so Icon Baby seemed like the perfect compromise - a nude-pink hybrid, which I tend to go for. Of course all lip products depend on your own natural lip colour and mine are quite a muted pink, similar to Pillow Talk lip liner, so I thought that this duo would suit me best and I saved a little by buying the duo.

As you can see from the swatch above, the liner is deeper than the lipstick, which I personally don't mind as it means I can give my lips some definition or contour slightly if needed. The formula of Charlotte's lip pencils is beautiful - it doesn't drag on the lips but isn't too smudgy either.

Icon Baby is part of the KI.I.S.S.I.N.G. range, which means that it's very creamy and comfortable to apply and to wear. The con is that the wear time is roughly three hours, depending on what you eat or drink, however I always find nudes easy to top up on the go so I don't mind a short wear time.

It's definitely a pink shade, however it isn't too in your face and on my lips, it's actually quite a neutral pink. I like it and think it's one that can be worn all year round, however I might look at the other shades for something brighter for Spring/Summer. Icon Baby works well with Pillow Talk liner, so if you already own that I don't think that it's entirely necessary to buy the duo.

I love the pink packaging on the lipstick as I'll definitely be able to pick it out easily given it's different from my other Charlotte lipsticks. If I were to choose a red, I'd go for Hollywood Vixen as it's a coral-red, which I think would be beautiful in summer when hair is lighter and skin is (fake) tanned!

Did you buy any of the new shades or are you tempted to? I'd love to hear your favourite!
