Let's be honest, irregular sleeping patterns, indulging in more food than normal - probably more sugar, possibly more alcohol and less water, all wreaks havoc with the skin! I'm here with some recommendations to try to keep your skin looking as good as possible, without having to sacrifice the treats!
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil*: If I'm tired, I always remove my makeup, SPF etc with a cleansing oil because it's very quick, effective and easy. I love this one because it breaks my makeup down so easily and I can use it on my eyes without it leaving them cloudy or with a film. I apply to dry skin, massage in, add water to emulsify, massage again and rinse. First part of the job done!
Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm: This balm is simply divine! I massage it into my skin, then add water before removing with a flannel to ensure that my skin is thoroughly cleansed. This is full of fatty acids, oils and Vitamin E, which leave the skin feeling soft and nourished after cleansing, but without a film. Once I'm satisfied that my skin is completely clean, I move on to the next step.
Summer Fridays Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution: I love an acid exfoliator to ensure that my skin is bright and radiant, and this is among the best that I have used. I swipe over my face on a cotton wool pad and II don't find that it tingles. It has a serum-liquid consistency that feels hydrating (it contains Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera), despite being very effective at refining pores and improving the texture of the skin.
Pat McGrath Labs Divine Skin The Essence Serum: To ensure maximum hydration, I love to use an essence and this bi-phase one really quenches my skin's thirst. It feels so nourishing on the skin and protects the skin's barrier to ensure soft skin, ready for the next step.
Dermalogica Phyto Nature Firming Serum*: A serum is an essential component of my skincare routine, particularly when I need a boost and this is one of the very best that I have used in terms of what it does for my skin. It hydrates, plumps, adds radiance and generally just makes my skin look and feel better in an instant! Full review here.
At Night: L'Occitane Immortelle Overnight Reset Serum*: This is basically the look of sleep in a bottle! It adds radiance, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and over time improves the texture of the skin. Need I say more? Full review here.
L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream*: This is like a comfort blanket for the skin, it really nourishes and cocoons the skin making it feel revived and looking brighter and more radiant. It's ideal for colder months and for when skin looks and feels parched. Full review here.
Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Cream: I love this eye cream for days where I have both dark circles and puffy eyes. It hides a multitude of sins by brightening the under eye area (but without a fake discoball look) and it soothes the skin, which helps to get rid of any puffiness.
Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask: This is essential for clear skin. If you feel like you have any spots brewing, this is the mask for you, but even if you don't have any spots because it just reawakens the skin, leaving it looking translucent and with very refined pores. I know that I'm guaranteed a good skin day the morning after using this! Save 21% by using my code BEAUTYLYMIN on Look Fantastic.
Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask: A deep cleanse is always a good idea when you're wearing more makeup than usual, but this isn't any ordinary pore cleansing mask! This mask gives the skin a lifted look and skin looks firmer and more youthful - exactly what we need during the busy festive period! Again, BEAUTYLYMIN will save you 21% at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
I know that's quite the number of recommendations and it's not necessary to use them all, but you get the idea - properly cleanse your skin (no matter how late it is), use a deep cleansing mask, replenish moisture and your skin should look plump and fresh!
