2023 Hall of Fame: Makeup

2023 Hall of Fame: Makeup

Just as I did with my skincare of the year post, I'm narrowing this category down to my top ten products because I'm adore makeup and it would go on forever otherwise! So let's do this!

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter:  It's very rare that I do my makeup without using this product because it instantly takes my skin from drab to fab! It can be mixed with foundation, used as a highlighter or worn under foundation, which is my personal choice. Even if I'm not wearing foundation, I'll apply this and some concealer just so my skin will look more awake. It also blurs the skin whereas a lot of illuminating products can highlight the appearance of pores and fine lines. There's a reason why it's often sold out.

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: My most repurchased foundation to date. I know that I can depend on it for a good skin day. I love the luminous finish, the medium coverage and the staying power. Regular readers will be bored about me raving about this but I can't help it because it's simply an amazing foundation! Save 21% on this and lots of other products and brands by using my code BEAUTYLYMIN at the checkout on Look Fantastic.

Rodial Banana Lowlighter: This is magic! It makes dark circles disappear in an instant and although it's very pigmented and if you're new to it, chances are you'll think you have applied too much when you first use it, but it blends into the skin so naturally and just makes the under eye area look so much brighter but not caked at all. Again, the BEAUTYLYMIN code works on this product on Look Fantastic.

YSL Lash Clash Mascara: This mascara is a step up from their Faux Cils, it gives mega dramatic, voluminous lashes, which I love! It doesn't make lashes crispy, doesn't flake and is easy to remove. It's definitely the closest I have gotten to the false lash look without actually using false lashes. My hairdresser thought I had lash extensions when I first wore this to the salon. Again, if you want to save money on it, you know the drill!

Victoria Beckham Beauty, in general: I have absolutely LOVED every product that I've used from this brand - the lid lustres are a must have, the kajal liners are soft and stay put once set (you can smudge them when you first apply). The mascara is amazing for dramatic and full lashes. I also love her shadow brick. Basically, she can do no wrong!

Rare Beauty Silky Touch Highlighter in the shade Exhilarate: I was gutted when I found that this smashed in transit when coming home from a holiday. I love the finely milled, smooth texture and how it applies to the skin. It can be quite full on if you like that look, but if you use a minimal amount on a fan brush, you can achieve a more subtle glow.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade Dim Infusion: I hit pan on this quite a while ago but am still trying to eek the last of it out! I love the marble effect, which has a mixture of blush and highlight and the coral-peachy shade suits my skin tone perfectly. It just gives my face the lift that it needs.

MAC Edge To Edge Lip Pencil: I've gotten back into MAC lip pencils this year and this shade matches my lips perfectly. I love the formula - neither too hard nor too soft. I think that worn all over the lips, it might be a little drying but I literally line my lips with it. My BEAUTYLYMIN discount also works on MAC on Look Fantastic!

Charlotte Tilbury Kim K-W Lipstick: This is my most worn lipstick, which I've repurchased a few times. It's my perfect nude lip shade - it's quite pale but still has some warmth to it and compliments my general makeup well and works with all looks. I love the creamy formula.

I'd love to hear what your makeup faves have been from the past year?

Thanks for reading!
