It's no secret that I love Estêe Lauder Advanced Night Repair - I've been using it for around 15 years and it's a constant repurchase (I love the festive gift sets as they're usually great value!). I like trying other products in the line - some have been hits, the eye cream is one, but also a miss - the night oil. However, I always get excited for a new launch so I had to buy the new Cleansing Gelée. Is it a hit or a miss?
It's described as being non-drying, non-stripping, non-comedogenic, suitable for all skin types and capable of removing all traces of makeup. From the name, you'll know that it's a gel formula, plus it contains 15 amino acids that balance and support the skin's barrier function - sounds pretty amazing, right?
It's applied to damp skin and then massaged in, when it forms a foam and should remove all makeup and impurities. For me, this is a second or morning cleansing product. It simply doesn't remove all of my makeup, particularly my eye makeup. As a second cleanse, I enjoy it because it doesn't strip my skin or leave it feeling tight or uncomfortable. I think that I just expected more because I love the range, but it's also expensive.
I have continued to use it after using a cleansing oil and my skin does feel thoroughly cleansed without being squeaky clean and it's fine for a morning cleanse but overall, I just feel a bit 'meh' and disappointed by it. I think that there is a balm cleanser in the line too soo I might try that at some point - if you have tried it, I'd love to hear your thoughts?
Overall, I was expecting more, I will finish it but it won't be a repurchase.
