I really hope that you're experiencing sunny weather wherever you are (if you like it, that is!) - since the beginning of July, we seems to have had rain pretty much every day, however it's still quite muggy so my makeup picks are ones that are quite lightweight, easy to touch up and let my skin be seen. I'm sharing my most reached for products today, which also made packing my makeup bag for my holiday this weekend very quick & easy!
Natasha Denona Hy-Gen Skin Glass Primer: I always use a primer and what I love this one is not only how lightweight it is but also the dewy and plump finish that it gives to the skin. When I apply a few drops of this, my skin instantly transforms into juicy skin with a glass like finish, as the name suggests, and all. foundations apply beautifully and evenly over it. It also looks beautiful worn alone. Use the code BEAUTYLYMIN to save 21% at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter: I've been a huge fan of this product ever since it was released because it has. a blurring effect, which I love, it adds a tiny bit of coverage but the main benefit is that it takes my skin from drab to fab in an instant. I sometimes wear alone, other times I wear it under foundation, or over as a gentle highlight.
IT Cosmetics Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation and Serum: If I do feel the need for some more coverage, this is the perfect foundation. It gives light to medium coverage, is hydrating and also feels refreshing, as it contains Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide and Green Tea, so it feels like a skincare/makeup hybrid. I love that my freckles are still seen when I wear this base. Use the code BEAUTYLYMIN to save 21% at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
Urban Decay Stay Naked Quickie Concealer*: This is a brilliant product when you want buildable coverage or want to add more coverage to take you from day to night because it can be used as a concealer, however a few more dabs and it can be buffed into the skin with the brush applicator, which is part of the product. It can be built up to full coverage. Depending on the shade you use, this is also great for adding some gentle definition to the face (rather than a contour).
Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer: I love this concealer for the under eye area because it gives pretty full coverage (I'm suffering from very bad dark circles at the moment), yet it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, it doesn't sink into fine lines plus despite the finish being matte, it also looks radiant so there is no fear of a flat or fake look to the skin. It works well on all areas of the face. Use the code BEAUTYLYMIN to save 21% at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
Drunk Elephant O-Bloos Rosi Drops: I love a cream or liquid blush and I have been using these a lot this summer because they add a glow to the skin, as well as a gorgeous peachy/pink flush of colour and it also has skincare benefits. It's so lightweight that you literally don't feel it on the skin. Use the code BEAUTYLYMIN to save 21% at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wands: I've been a fan of these for years, so if I don't use the drops above, I'll use a beauty wand, which I dab onto the skin and then blend in either with my fingers or a beauty sponge. I have 4/5 of these now as they are so easy to use!
Rare Beauty Bronzing Stick: This has been a great discovery this year because it really is super easy to use and it blends into the skin so easily to add a sunkissed look. It gives a very natural skin-like finish and helps to fake summer skin, without any damage.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder: I love this powder for its blurring properties, plus it mattifies the skin without it looking flat. It's ideal for the t-zone or all over the skin if you have oily skin and it never looks cakey.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Mist: To ensure that my base will stay in place, I love this mist because it ensures that my makeup will stay in place, even on humid days.
Refy Brow Trio: I'm back on the Refy train again and I love this trio because I can give my brows definition and they also stay in place. It includes a pencil, pomade and gel for budge-proof brows.
Hourglass eyeshadow stick: I recently reviewed these shadow sticks in this post. I just love how quick and easy these are to use and I find them to be budge-proof and I can do my eyes in less than 1/2 minutes! That's how I like my summer makeup to be -quick & easy!
Refy Lip Pencil: I'm loving this lip pencil at the moment. It's retractable, is creamy but not too soft, can be worn all over the lips without drying them out, and is long-lasting.
Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Lip Balm Mist: I bought a back up of this a few weeks after buying the first one. I love that it's moisturising, adds colour, has a glossy finish that isn't sticky, but it's also volumizing for a plump look. Plus, this particular shade suits my skin tone well because it's pretty much my natural lip colour.
What's in your summer makeup bag? Have you been having rain or actual summer weather? I'd love to hear!
