My top five Charlotte Tilbury skincare products

My top five Charlotte Tilbury skincare products

In July, I showed you my top five Charlotte Tilbury makeup products, and it went down well according to my analytics, so I thought I'd share my top five skincare products from the brand. Initially, I was more interested in the makeup products from the brand, but in the past 2/3 years, I've found that the skincare products have really improved and stand alone as quality products, rather than being "add-ons" to the brand, if you know what I mean. It can be difficult for brands to do skincare and makeup equally well, but some do manage it. Like with the makeup post, I found it very difficult to narrow it down to just five products, but I was very strict with myself. So, here we go!

Cryo-Recovery Mask: This was an absolute Godsend during the recent heatwave! I kept it in its pouch in the freezer after each use, tending to use it first thing in the morning, when I was at my puffiest! It has velcro straps, which can be tied around the head, and then two more at the bottom, which are pulled upwards and secured on top of the head, which helps with the lifting effect. It is applied to clean skin, or you can apply after your serum if you prefer. The mask contains acupressure beads, which you massage in for around 10 minutes - these reduce puffiness and help to refine the contours of the face, but I also find them brilliant for relieving headaches. This mask was also brilliant when I had Delta last year and my skin was literally burning - this was the only thing that really cooled it down. I didn't get that burning sensation with my most recent bout of Covid, but it's handy to have in case it happens again. It's also brilliant in helping to relieve migraine and sinus pain. I find that when I use this, it is brilliant in terms of reducing puffy eyes (which I always seem to have when it's very warm), but also it seems to lift my jawline and cheekbone area - something that is always welcome!

Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial : This is a brilliant product for those who don't have lots of spare time to dedicate to skincare routines, yet want their skin to look fresh and feel smooth. It's designed for once weekly use, and contains a 15% blend of AHA, BHA and PHAs, which I know may sound a little harsh or alarming, but I have sensitive skin and have never had an adverse reaction to it. The great thing about this exfoliator is that it also contains Hyaluronic Acid, Polyglutamic Acid, Glycerin Aloe Vera, and other ingredients, which balance the skin. It is applied to clean, dry skin and left for 20 minutes to work its magic, before rinsing with warm water. The smoothing effects can be felt immediately and skin also looks more radiant and polished.

Goddess Skin Clay Mask: As soon as I heard that Amal Clooney used this (or had it used on her, more correctly) on her wedding day, I knew I had to have it! I don't think I've ever seen a photo of her looking anything less than immaculate, but there's a hell of a lot more to that woman than her beauty! I've lost count of how many tubes of this mask I have used. I'm not always the biggest fan of clay masks, due to the tight feeling on the skin, however this one doesn't give that pinched feeling. It's not a traditional clay mask in the sense of just drawing out impurities, it has brightening and nourishing ingredients, including Vitamin C, peptides, sweet almond oil and rosehip oil, which nourish and soften the skin, at the same time that it's being cleansed. It's applied to clean, dry skin and left on for 10 minutes. When removed with a warm flannel/cloth, skin feels baby soft and looks plump. It really is a brilliant product to use before a night out, when you want your makeup to apply effortlessly.

Magic Cream: I must admit that I didn't fully get the hype when I first used this cream, but my skin has changed over the years and I now love it! I no longer have a reaction to shea butter (how or why this has changed, I don't know!), so I don't know if that's the reason, or if other elements of my skincare are suiting my skin better. Either way, I now get the magic! Apparently, Charlotte used this backstage at shows years before it was ever released, and people were constantly asking what it was and could they have it, so she eventually perfected and produced it. Obviously, the packaging is stunning, and it looks fabulous on any dressing table. It is available in 30, 50 and 150ml tubs, with refills being available for the larger two, which is fantastic, and I hope more brands move in this direction especially when the tubs are so sturdy and glamorous. When it comes to ingredients, everything is aimed towards nourishing, brightening, soothing and hydrating the skin, including peptides, Vitamins C&E, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, camellia and rosehip oils, among others. I find that a little goes a long way (I don't always use Charlotte's recommended application/massage method), but if you use more than the size of a pound or euro coin, you will probably find that you are spending a long time massaging it in. I find that my skin feels smooth and that feeling lasts for hours, and it also feels supple. It's the perfect makeup base too! There's also a light version available for oily skin.

Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil: It looks as though I have only used a small amount of this, but I honestly only need 1/2 drops at a time, so it's great value and will last a long time, although I'll undoubtedly be using it more in winter. If my skin is feeling extra dry or looking dull, I will reach for this. At night, I'd use it as a final step, however during the day, I'd add a drop to my moisturiser, and it doesn't disturb any base products. I find that my skin is instantly more comfortable, feels more supple and elasticized, and looks more plump, when I use this oil With consistent use, skin feels firmer, and as you know, I'm all about anything that will make my skin more lifted, firmer and more elasticized. I'll update you further on this later in the year.

Honourable mention have to go to Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, Cryo-recovery Eye Serum, Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer SPF50, and Glow Toner, which is new to my collection. I love that there is also a Build Your Own Skincare Kit, which lets you choose four products at a reduced rate.

I'd love to hear what your favourite skincare products from Charlotte are, or do you prefer her makeup?
