I feel like you're either team eye cream or you're not! Some people think that they don't make a difference, whereas others (myself included) cannot skip this step in my routine. I think that you need to begin using one before you think that you need to. I began at 21 and am very glad that I did because my lines are very fine. There is nothing wrong with having fine lines or wrinkles - I'm all for the privilege of growing old, however that doesn't necessarily mean that I want to look my age! I'm not one for botox, but as I always say - never say never! Also, eye creams help with more than just lines - they help with puffiness and dark circles too. You don't have to spend a fortune to find an effective eye cream, so I'm sharing three great ones for three different budgets with you today!
Budget: The Inkey List Retinol Eye Cream*: If you are seeing signs of ageing (nothing wrong with that!), this is a great eye cream to use because not only does it help to firm and smooth the skin, it also encourages collagen production. This, in turn, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and also brightens the skin. I find it to be nourishing, not so rich that it will cause milia, however rich enough to make the under eye area appear smoother, when used consistently. Affordable: La Roche-Posay Redermic Retinol Eye Cream: I have used a few tubes of this eye cream and always love how it makes my under eye area look not only firmer and smoother, but also brighter/less tired (a miracle in itself!). It has a really lightweight texture, which doesn't disturb foundation or concealer, but also makes the skin look more supple on no-makeup days. I personally haven't experienced any irritation with either of these retinol eye creams, and I have sensitive eyes that water very easily. Save 21% by using the code BEAUTYLYMIN on Look Fantastic.
Bougie: Sunday Riley Autocorrect Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream: This is a fantastic cream to use in the morning because it really does live up to its name - it de-puffs and brightens! The brightening effect isn't pearlescent and fake looking, which is something I really dislike. The cream is rich, so just one small pump is needed to do both eyes, and it instantly feels soothing and nourishing. It contains caffeine, which helps to de-puff, watermelon extract soothes the skin, and shea butter nourishes, so it really is a triple threat! I've used several bottles of this and my only complaint is that I can't tell when it's running low, but it would never stop me repurchasing!
