I have all of the original Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise Cream Shadows (review and swatches here), so when I saw that three new shades were being released, I knew that my willpower would disappear and I'd buy one.... I ended up buying two of the three new shades!
I find myself reaching for cream shadows more often than palettes these days. Maybe the pandemic/lockdowns made me lazy, or maybe I just love that I can look as though I've made an effort with my eye makeup in less than two minutes, and that the shadows are budge-proof. I have oily lids and watery eyes, so I never thought that I would love cream shadows, but Eyes To Mesmerise shadows are game-changers. I love that they make my lids look smoother than they actually are, so they are flattering for all ages.
Swatches are unedited. From left to right: Sunlit Glow, Exagger-eyes. |
The three new shades are: Sunlit Glow, Exagger-eyes, and Golden Eclipse (which is the one I don't have). I chose Sunlit Glow because it's a pink/gold duo-chrome shade, and it looked similar to Rose Gold, which I wear all of the time, yet different enough to justify owning both. I love the liquid metallic look that it gives.
Exagger-eyes is one that I think will work well with some of the other shades that I have, and also as a base for some powder shadows.
Both work well with my green eyes, but I think that they will suit all eye colours. I apply with a flat shader brush and then blend, however you could also apply with your finger and then blend out. I often use my bronzer as a transitional shade in order to tie my whole look together.
If you are yet to try a cream shadow, I urge you to give these a go, and you are bound to find a shade for you! There are also Easy Summer Eye Glow Secrets sets available, which contain a Colour Chameleon pencil and an Eyes To Mesmerise of your choice, at a discounted rate.
I'd love to hear which shade you prefer?
