Budget/Affordable/Bougie: Hyaluronic Acid Serums

Budget/Affordable/Bougie: Hyaluronic Acids

I love the reaction I've had to my Budget/Affordable/Bougie posts, whether via comments, DMs, or emails! I'm well aware that I post a lot of high end products on the blog, but there are definitely high quality and effective products at affordable prices on the market, and I only ever feature products that I use myself (and will later feature in my empties!). Today we're talking about Hyaluronic Acid Serums - products that I think everybody uses ( or would benefit from) in their daily routine.

Budget: The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum* (£6.99): I did an overview of this brand here,  and I really like it. The products are affordable, the packaging is simple, you don't need a degree in chemistry to figure out which products are for you (the information on the website is very helpful). With the cost of living rising, I can see brands like this becoming more popular, not just because they are affordable, but also because they work. This serum contains 2% hyaluronic acid, so I would personally say that its best suited to those who suffer from mild dehydration (perhaps those with oily but dehydrated skin - yes you can have both as one is a skin type and the other a condition). For my skin, which is both dry and dehydrated, I need a higher percentage of hyaluronic acid, however I am still using this, and adding other serums. The brilliant thing about this product is that it doesn't pill and it layers well, so I do believe that everyone could use it, and it's hard to argue with the price!

Affordable: Facetheory Hyaluret Serum S13 (£23.99): Not strictly a hyaluronic acid serum, this also is a combination of retinoic and hyaluronic acids, however don't be put off if you have had bad experiences with retinol products in the past, as this serum also contains beta glucan (an antioxidant, which helps to prevent against environmental damage), liquorice (which is anti-inflammatory), and dill (which helps to improve the elasticity of the skin), so this is a very powerful and multi-tasking product. It has a very lightweight texture, layers well and doesn't pill. What I also love is that it doesn't cause any of the peeling or sensitivity associated with any retinoid product - just be sure to stay on top of your SPF application. A little goes a long way with this serum. With consistent use, you'll find that skin is smooth, more even in tone, and hydrated - all without breaking the bank. You can receive a 30% on this (and all products from the brand with the code BEAUTYLYMINA30OFF. I will be featuring more products from the brand soon. Suitable for all skin types.

Bougie: Oskia Isotonic Hydra-Serum (£64): This is a brand that I feel doesn't get the hype it deserves. As far as I am aware, I have loved every product that I have tried from them and have repurchased a few several times. This serum contains both hyaluronic and polyglutamic acids (the latter can hold even more moisture than the former!), glycerin, niacinamide, ceramides and Vitamin B-5, among other ingredients, all aimed at quenching the skin's thirst, as well as adding moisture, reducing inflammation and increasing elasticity.  As soon as it is applied, skin feels soothed, less thirsty, and supple. With consistent use, skin is visibly plump and elasticized, firmer, with fewer dry patches, and overall, lines are less visible. It's expensive, but if your skin is very dry and dehydrated, or you are post illness, this is well worth the price tag. I also find that a little goes a long way, so it should last 8-10 weeks.

An honourable mention has to go to Sarah Chapman Intense Hydrating Booster, which is one of my favourite hyaluronic acids, and well worth splashing out on, if budget allows. It is like liquid silk and skin is left looking and feeling plump and radiant when this is used. It's one of the best products that you will put on your face if you have dehydrated skin.

What's your favourite hyaluronic acid serum, or do you prefer to get the ingredient in another form? Moisturiser, for example?
