Kérastase Absolu Chroma range - suitable for all colour-treated hair

Kérastase Absolu Chroma range review

I've been a fan of Kérastase products for over 20 years. I've tried a lot of their ranges, depending on what my hair needs - repair, moisture, colour protection etc, and I'm always intrigued by their new ranges. Their latest is Absolu Chroma, which aims to reduce frizz, reduce breakage by strengthening the hair, and revive colour. What really interested me about this range, is that it contains Lactic Acid, which is a gentle exfoliator that we are used to seeing in skincare, but not in haircare products. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid, Amino Acids and Centella Asiatica, which help to restore the hair from the inside out, so it works to strengthen your hair long-term, rather than just make it look/feel good after you wash it.I have four products from the range and want to share my thoughts with you today.

I had already bought the Soin Acide Chroma Gloss, which I reviewed here, so I decided to buy a trio of products: Bain Respect Shampoo, Strengthening Fondant, and Leave-In Serum. Look Fantastic always offers brilliant value on bundles, so if you want to buy a number of products from any of the ranges, it's definitely worth checking that site first. The shampoo also comes in a refill pouch, which  assume they will eventually roll out to all products.

The shampoo is available in a rich version and one for fine to medium hair - I chose the latter, but the rich one would be ideal for thick, coarse hair. It smells divine (as all products from this brand do!), and lathers so well with only a small amount of product. I use this for a double shampoo - just like we double cleanse our faces, we should do the same to our hair, and it leaves my hair feeling silky soft - not at all stripped, it just feels really clean and hydrated.

I then towel dry my hair and move on to the conditioner, which is lightweight, yet really nourishing. I apply and then put my hair in a grip, while I wash  and exfoliate my body, shave my legs etc. This gives it time to really penetrate the hair and strengthen it from the inside. I emulsify, before rinsing leaving it feeling nourished, soft and elasticized. I have naturally knotty hair but can get a comb through easily after using this duo.

Sometimes I use the gloss, and other times, I skip that and go straight to the serum, which I apply from the ear down. This really helps to protect my colour - I think that if you spend money getting your hair done, which isn't cheap, then you should use the best products to protect that colour. This serum also reduces frizz and acts as a heat protector too.

The result of using all three/four products, is glossy, revived hair that feels soft and silky and looks and feels healthy.

For me, this range is another winner! There is also a mask in the line, which I haven't purchased yet as I have some others to use up first, but I'm sure it will work just as well as the other products in the line. If you have colour-treated hair, which you find fades, or looks dull quickly after colouring, I would highly recommend using this range.
