Armani Prive Indigo Tanzanite Eau De Parfum - the ultimate in sensual decadence

Armani Prive Indigo Tanzanite Eau De Parfum review

Most of you will know that I am a fragrance addict, often showing my Fragrance of the Day on Instagram, so I love smelling new scents. I've never owned an Armani Prive fragrance before, but from the first spritz of Indigo Tanzanite, I fell in love in an instant, so I know that this won't be my last! I have a few Armani fragrances, but the Prive range is a step above, with four collections: Les Eaux, La Collection, Les Terres Précieuses and Les Mille et Une Nuits. These lines use only the highest quality ingredients, to create unique scents. The Indigo Tanzanite EDP is part of the Les Terres Précieuses line, each of which is inspired by a different culture, which has inspired Giorgio Armani. This particular fragrance is inspired by Africa, with its bright colours (the other in the line is Magenta Tanzanite).

As you can see from the photo above, the bottle is a stunning violet-blue colour, which is inspired by the stone at the foot of Kilimanjaro, which was created when a wildfire was started by a bolt of lightning, resulting in the stones turning this colour. Tanzania is the only place in the world where this stone is found - hence the name Indigo Tanzanite. (As a side note, my husband & I like to buy a different bottle of perfume each time we go on holiday, so that it will always bring back memories of that holiday, so if you ever go to Tanzania, or a loved one goes there, this would be a treasured gift).

This fragrance is not only inspired by the unique stone found there, but also by the blue-purple night skies. I personally would describe this as a unisex fragrance, as it's quite woody and masculine, but not completely so - it's reminiscent of some male fragrances, yet in a way that women can also wear them. The notes include bergamot essence and almond accord, plus heliotrope accords and a base combination of patchouli, labdanum (for some amber notes), and vanilla. It's warm, woody, sensual, captivating, strong, but not overpowering, plus a little goes a long way and the wear time is a good 8 hours, if not more.

It's certainly the most unique fragrance in my collection, and I now want to smell Magenta Tanzanite, to smell, and visualise, the whole story! Maybe if my husband buys that one, I'll swap for this one, as I know he loves it as much as I do!

The bottle is stunning, with the beautiful violet/indigo colour, gold logo and signature Prive stone shaped cap. It is housed in a box, which has a sleeve in the same colour as the bottle. It makes the entire experience feel very luxurious and decadent.

Available from Brown Thomas. You can get free complimentary engraving on any of the Prive fragrances in the Dublin store - perfect to mark special occasions.

Does this sound like your kind of fragrance? I'd love to hear!
