Let's get Spring ready!

Let's get Spring ready!, Spring body preparation, get skin ready for Spring,

Ok, I know you probably think that I'm getting ahead of myself here, given that we've had around 5/6 storms already this year, and it isn't unknown to have snow in March, I'm choosing to think positively and think back to Spring 2020, when Covid arrived, and a few weeks later, we had the most glorious weather! I'm hoping that we might just get a repeat of that, so instead of waiting for good weather to arrive, I like to prep my body and skin in advance, so that it's looking good when it comes out of hibernation, and the layers come off! Today, I'm going to share the products that I'm using, which might inspire you to peel off the layers for a pamper! Anything marked with a * was kindly gifted to me, without obligation (but are pretty much all products that I have myself previously!).

L'Occitane Ultra Rich Body Scrub*: A weekly body scrub is a must for me, or sometimes twice weekly, to get rid of dead skin cells, which gives the skin a natural glow and means that any products applied afterwards will apply evenly. I love a good body scrub that will leave my skin smooth and soft, but I don't like to use anything too abrasive, that might tear my skin, so this one is ideal as it contains 10% shea butter, which is super nourishing. It also contains apricot oil, and finely ground nut shells, which provide the exfoliating properties.

L'Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil: I love to use an oil on my tummy and thighs, and this one does exactly what it says on the tin! It leaves skin so supple and elastcized, but also very nourished. I adore the entire almond line, and tend to use this most in the evenings, to give it a little time to sink in, before putting my pyjamas on. The combination of this and the scrub, leaves my skin gleaming, which looks so healthy.

Ecooking Body Lotion: I love this light body lotion, that applies evenly and quickly, but really hydrates the skin, without any hint of irritation. There's no excuse not to moisturise your body quickly if you have this, as it doesn't take long to apply and absorb, and you can get dressed immediately afterwards. I have previously been gifted this, but went on to buy several bottles as I love it so much.

Footner Exfoliating Socks: My guilty pleasure! These socks really do work at getting rid of all of the dead, dry skin on your feet - soles and heels! You apply them for an hour (I put a pair of fluffy socks over them, or I'd go head over arse otherwise if I moved! There is some slight tingling, but nothing too intense. Afterwards, you take them off, bin them, and wait..... 7-10 days later, you'll start to see the peeling - sometimes, you will almost be able to remove all of the skin on your sole in one swift move, other times it happens in stages. Either way, gross or not, it's worth it for the baby soft skin you're left with...... and I mean ultra soft! Perfect for sandal weather! Currently buy 1, get 1 half price in Boots.

L'Occitane Intensive Foot Balm*: To maintain my soft feet, I love to use an intensive foot cream, and this balm from L'Occitane is one of my favourites (which I have bought several times, but also, kindly been sent it). It's rich, and you can feel it enveloping your skin - I then put socks on, to seal it in, so I tend to use this in the evenings. This is the product for you if you have very dry skin and want your feet to look (and feel) a little better, after months in thick socks and boots/slippers!

L'Occitane Shea Hand Cream: I also use the hand cream from this brand and gone through tubes of it! It's rich, but leaves the skin on your hands feeling super soft, supple and nourished. I apply hand cream a lot throughout the day, but always make sure to use a thick layer of this at night.

L'Occitane Shea Nail Cuticle Nourishing Oil*: An area that a lot of people forget, is their nails. I personally don't get gels/shellac etc, so I like to make sure that I'm taking care of my nails as best I can. Applying some of this has become part of my nightly routine, and I use a cuticle pusher (although not every night, as I think that would be overload). I just apply a few drops and massage into both my nails and cuticles, to keep them heathy.

Essie Hard To Resist Nail Strengthener*: This product came into my life at the right time. There are two available - both strengthen the nails, but one neutralizes any yellow tones/stained nails, and the other adds some glow on shine. I apply two coat for 3 days in a row, before removing, and I promise you that my nails felt stronger within days, and I don't mind going without polish, as the shine makes them look 'done'. This is buy one, get one half price in Boots at the moment.

Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam: This is not a necessary step, but I just like to have some tan on, as I feel that it makes me look a little healthier (and God knows I need all the help I can get in that department!). This tan is so easy to apply for a streak-free, golden tan, that lasts around a week, and fades naturally.

St Tropez Purity Face Mist: I adore this mist, and have been through several bottles of it. It just never lets me down, and on no makeup days, I love the light golden glow that this gives. Keep wearing your SPF and invest in a good facial tanner if you like to be tanned, but if you prefer pale skin, you do you!

L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Overnight Mask*: I love overnight masks - you just apply them and let them get to work while you sleep - easy! This mask targets the signs of blue light damage, which most of us probably have, given the amount of time we spend in front of screens every day, whether at work or at home. There are two patents pending on this mask, so until they are approved, we can't 100% be sure of the claims, however the Immortelle range is known for its antioxidants (which repair the skin, and protect against environmental damage). The mask has Immortelle Essential Oil, but also Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract, so it doubles up on the protect and repair action. It also contains Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid, which helps to plump the skin, and attract water into the skin. Applied overnight, I wake to fresh, radiant and plump skin - without any of the effort!

Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask: How many times have I raved about this mask on the blog? It is the one I go to if my skin is looking dull, or I feel a spot brewing, or just look congested in general. It contains Salicylic Acid, which as an AHA, can penetrate the pores more deeply and it oil soluble. I always wake to clear, smooth and even skin when I use this mask. It has a gel texture, and is blue in colour, so not the sexiest look, but it works and that's what matters to me! Save 20% on this (and a huge range of products and brands on Look Fantastic with the code LYMIN.

Caudalie Grape Water: To make sure that my skin is kept hydrated, I'm liberally misting with this product, which I love - it's affordable, effective and has a very fine mist action.

NYK1 Lash Force Eyelash Growth Serum: I'm taking a break from my lash extensions, and when I do, I always use this serum, and several people have asked me if I have extensions, or what mascara I'm wearing, but it's the serum that does the work. It makes my lashes longer, curly and more supple, if that's possible! I was initially sent this, but have repurchased myself several times since.

I'd love to hear if you prep for the change in season, or do you just wait for a sunny day, and get your limbs out regardless (which I'm not criticizing at all - I just feel better when I'm prepared!)? I'd love to hear!
