As I have said any times before, Spring is my favourite season. I'm seeing buds appearing, as well as some beautiful snowdrops and narcissi - this is something that always gives me hope and God knows, the world needs hope right now. Today, I thought I'd share my top five fragrances for Spring this year. My sense of smell is intermittent right now (hoping it will come back fully very soon!), but I know these fragrances like the back of my hand and can describe them easily. I'd love to hear your favourite Spring fragrance (if you rotate them each season)?
ChloƩ Nomade*: This fragrance will always remind me of New York, as my husband bought my first bottle there, not long after it had been released in Spring 2018. I love the bottle, as Chloe bag designs always have a nod to horseshoes, as does the general shape of this bottle. But it's what's inside that really counts, and this does not disappoint! It's musky, citrusy, fruity, and woody - it sounds like a strange mix, but the blend of Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, Rose, Musk and Sandalwood work so well together, so create a soft, warm, feminine (but not in a girly way), sophisticated fragrance. Jo Malone Rose Blush Cologne: Even if you aren't a fan of traditional rose scents, you might want to stop by a JM counter and smell this! I know that rose scents have a reputation for what grandmothers wore back in the day, but I have a soft spot for rose scents, due to my many happy childhood memories in my Granda's rose garden. I digress! This is a soft rose, mixed with basil and white musk. The notes work so well together, and although white musk is a base note, the overall scent is slightly fresh, and very comforting. I adore it, and would love it in candle form! I also love the limited edition packaging!
Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon Leaves: One of my all time favourite scents, and I think this is my third or fourth bottle (I also have the candle, shower gel, and previously had the body lotion!). Fresh, invigorating, airy - this is the perfect scent combination for my taste, as I love rose, but also love citrus scents, and they balance each other out so well. Again, even if you don't like traditional rose scents, I'd encourage you to smell this, as you might just surprise yourself!
Aerin Lilac Path: Lilac blossom in (late) Spring really is one of my favourite ever scents! Again, this is because it reminds me of both my Granda's & my parents' garden (but my Mam is the gardener!). As soon as I smell this, I can feel my shoulders lower, and I just relax, in general. Aerin have done an amazing job of recreating a very authentic scent. It smells like you're walking through a garden full of lilac bushes, yet it isn't overpowering - it's soft, and feminine, but not girly, as it isn't sweet. It's a fresh, airy fragrance, which I know I'll get a lot more wear out of this Spring, as my husband bought this for me late last summer, and I felt I'd get more joy from it in Spring!
Dior Joy*: Speaking of joy, this beauty from Dior can't help but make me smile. It's fruity, musky, citrusy, floral and powdery, all at once. This may sound like a sensorial overload, but it really isn't. Think of a sparkling champagne or prosecco (or whatever fizzy drink that you like), and add some femininity, and you'll get what what I mean. I think that whichever note you are most drawn to, is what you will smell most. What I can assure you, is that you will get plenty of compliments when you wear it, and just knowing that you are wearing joy, can't help but bring a smile to your face! Currently reduced by 15% on All Beauty.
I'd love to hear if you've tried any of these, and also what your favourite seasonal fragrance is?
Also, don't forget to check out All Beauty if you do plan on treating yourself (or others), as there some amazing discounts on there, on really high end brands, as well as everyday staples. It's not an ad, I just love to share bargains! Even Tom Ford is reduced!
