*Please note that this is pre-written and scheduled content, before I knew what would happen family-wise in the past 2 weeks*
I'll begin by saying that I had planned on a no-spend September (!!!), but the combination of some birthday money/vouchers and basically being bedridden, resulted in this haul, plus some of it was bought in August! It's a looooooong time since I bought so many things so close together (I used to do a lot of hauls when I first started blogging!), but as a blogger, I do think that it's good to spend your own money on products, rather than just writing about products you've received in P.R. - I know that's what I prefer to read anyway - a good mixture! I suppose I went a little wild but I probably won't buy much for the rest of the year (I say as I see a lot of the holiday sets being released......!). After what I've been through, I've no need to justify making any purchases - I'm just glad to be alive to be able to use them! So, on to what I bought and why...... (Oh and remember to use the code LYMIN at checkout on Look Fantastic to save 20% - I use it every time and it will generally work on most products/brands, unless they are already reduced).
Makeup:
Huda Naughty Nudes Palette: I bought this when Cult Beauty had 20% off Huda Beauty one weekend. I really didn't need another palette, but my friend Laura from Laura Louise Beauty sold this to me! She has several eye looks here, and every time I watched her swatches reel, I knew I wanted this palette. I love the quality of the shadows from this brand and it also came with a free mini silk balm.
Patrick Starr Visionary Eyeshadow Palette: I bought this palette as a result of two things - it was reduced to pretty much half price on Sephora, plus Tati recommended it. How great is it to have Tati back?
Natasha Denona Love Eyeshadow Palette: I skipped this when it was first released, purely because I'm unsure if the shadows will really suit me, but I was lured by the Sephora sale. I still haven't decided if I'll keep it, or there may be a giveaway soon!
Natasha Denona Micro Blade Liquid Liner: I needed a new liquid liner, so thought I'd give this a whirl.I'm impressed so far and I'm very fussy about liquid liners, as I have the delightful combination of oily lids and watery eyes! It has a sharp, precise nib, which I like and it doesn't smudge - winner.
Natasha Denone Lip Oh Phoria Lip Gloss: Again, I didn't need another gloss, but I liked the look of this shade and, again, it was in the Sephora sale! It's non-sticky and a beautiful nude colour - my favourite!
Charlotte Tilbury The Super Nudes Lipstick - Catwalking: I bought all of these when ASOS had 20% off (I love when they allow the discount to be used on all brands). I already had the eyeshadow palette, which I bought last year and basically wanted all of the lipsticks as I love a good nude, but settled on these three and the face palette. I will be doing a full review in a few weeks, so I won't say too much now, but I bought Charlotte Tilbury The Super Nudes Lipstick - Super Model, Charlotte Tilbury The Super Nudes Lipstick - Cover Star and Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Palette: In short, I'm in love!
Skincare:
Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm: Everyone and their mother is raving about this, so I had to see what the fuss was about and it's 100% worth the hype! Beautiful texture, dissolves all makeup, leaves skin comfortable, soft and nourished. 100% LOVE!
Lancôme Regenerie Lift Multi Action Ultra Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream: I had circles that were so bad that they actually scared me to look at them! They went from dark, to purple, to red and just looking in the mirror bothered me, so I bought this to see if it would make any difference.
belif Aqua Bomb Overnight Lip Mask: My medication and illness dried my skin, lips and even my eyes out, so badly. I flew through lip balms and I love this brand so thought I'd give it a try as it's new. I absolutely love it. I apply last thing at night and when I wake, I don't have that parched/dry feeling on my lips. Now, I do still have to apply lip balm during the day, as part of my skincare routine, but I find that I need to apply it less frequently since I started to use this.
By Terry Hyaluronic Global Face Cream: A product that I had my eye on for a while, so I grabbed it while there was a 25% off promo. This moisturiser contains 8 types of hyaluronic acid, with 3 molecular weights, meaning that it hydrates the skin at every level and it also contains niacinamide and phytosqualane, all of which aim to nourish the skin. The texture is surprisingly lightweight and it absorbs quickly upon application. What I love is that the soft, hydrated, plump feeling that it gives immediately, lasts for hours, so it actually is worth the hype it receives.
Bath, Body & Hair:
Ameliorate Intensive Foot Treatment: A repeat purchase - one that was initially sent to me in P.R., but I have gone on to repurchase several times myself since. It keeps my feet feeling soft and smooth all over. My only peeve is that I would love a larger tube as I fly through these, as I use them daily!
Laura Mercier Hand Cream Quartet: I adore LM hand creams, but hadn't tried all of the scents, so I decided to buy the set (my first of the festive set purchases), so that I could try them all. My favourite is still Almond & Coconut!
Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam: I bought a few bottles of this tan and I absolutely LOVE it! It doesn't dry the skin out, gives an even, streak-free tan and lasts for a good 5/6 days. I could probably get longer but I tan weekly (or I asked my husband to do it when I was too ill - it just makes me mentally feel better to have a tan!). I bought both dark and ultra dark, the latter being my favourite but the dark is perfect for weekly tanning too - just a little more toned down. Ultra Dark makes me look like I've been in the Caribbean for a fortnight - a girl can dream!
Coco & Eve Applicator Mitt & Kabuki Brush: I bought these while they were on offer. I like that the applicator has space for my thumb and the kabuki brush makes tanning my ears and hands a doddle, without overloading them.
This Works Sleep Plus+ Pillow Spray: I simply can't be without a pillow spray and I love this brand. I *think* that this is the updated version. It definitely helps me sleep through the night, and is such a relaxing scent. I've raved about this product for the past 6/7 years on the blog, so you know the love is real!
Therapie Restore Aura Spray: I love this brand, so I bought this spray because it promised to restore calm in times of stress, and I have to say that it works. Now, maybe it's because you take a few minutes to focus on your breathing, after spraying it, but the scent is calming.
Kérastase Refreshing Dry Shampoo: This is brand new to the market and I actually bought it on launch day, as I was flying through dry shampoo, due to not having the energy to wash my hair. I love this - no white residue or heavy feeling in the hair. It dries up my oils, doesn't irritate my scalp and smells fresh. Another winner from this brand!
Slip Silk Large Scrunchies: I had a set of slim silk hair ties but wanted larger scrunchies (and yes, I'm old enough for this to be my second time wearing them, while they're on trend!). I love them - I can keep my hair off my face, without it feeling tight or under pressure and found them particularly useful when I had a very high fever, to wear my hair up at night, as I was uncomfortable with it down, but didn't want any tension on my hair.
Kérastase Blond Absolu Huile Cicaextreme Oil: I adore this line and when my hairdresser used this on my hair back in August, I knew I had to buy it. It makes my hair feel so soft and silky, yet it doesn't weigh it down at all. It can be used on both wet and dry hair, and smells utterly beautiful. Plus, a little goes a long way, so it will last me for a long time.
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Mariage Eau De Parfum: I wear perfume every single day, regardless of whether it's a pj/duvet day, or I'm out and about (a rare occasion over the past 18 months!), but I didn't want any one scent to remind me of this horrible time. I have a lot of fragrances and was rotating them, but I added this to the lineup as it's a long time since I owned it (I still absolutely adore it!), plus I couldn't resist the delicate, lace print on the bottle. My husband also bought me an Aerin fragrance (Lilac Path), which had been on my wishlist for a while, so it was nice to add two new scents into the rotation.
A selection of Neom Diffuser oils: I had my diffuser on the go non-stop, so needed to buy some new oils as I was flying through what I had. If you want to buy someone a really beautiful gift, I cannot recommend the Neom Wellbeing Diffuer Pod enough - I literally use mine daily.
Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia candle: I had a birthday voucher that was burning a hole in my pocket, so I couldn't resist buying this candle. I love the ribbed detail on the glass and the scent is so fresh. It's probably more of a Spring scent, but I love it so it doesn't bother me if it isn't season appropriate.
Clothes/accessories:
Marks & Spencer Cosy Knit Relaxez-Vous Sweatshirt Set: I needed something cosy to wear, that isn't quite pyjamas, but also not quite clothes and this set fits the bill perfectly. It's so comfy & cosy and I'll have to buy more from the Cosy Knit range for the colder months, because they really are the perfect 'round the house' clothes, without looking too slobby, but the biggest factor is the comfort. The fabric washes well and keeps its cosy feel.
Nicholas Kirkwood Casati Leather Chelsea Boots: I've wanted these boots for around a year, but couldn't justify the price, until I spotted them at a 40% discount on Luisaviaroma, with only one pair left in my size. It was fate! Shipping was expensive, but super fast (next day, if I recall correctly), and they fit perfectly. I know that I will wear these to death.
River Island Black Hooded Wool Jacket: I really didn't need a new coat/jacket, but I love the casual look of this and the fact that it looks very simple/plain, with a cosy hoody at the neckline. We love to go to the beach at the weekends, where possible and this will keep me warm and cosy, isn't too dressy and also, isn't as heavy as some of my other coats, so it was a good buy.
I don't really need many other Autumn clothes or accessories (I think - I'm slow to do my wardrobe swap this year, due to exhaustion), so I'm happy with these purchases, as I feel that my wardrobe is pretty set now. I'll no doubt see and want other items, but don't need them and will try to remember that.......and this large haul, to keep me in check!!
Well done if you've made it this far! What have you been buying recently? I'd love to know!
