Some new Marc Jacobs purchases & mini reviews

Some new Marc Jacobs purchases & mini reviews

I hate to say it, but I have a sneaky suspicion that Marc Jacobs Beauty might be no more soon! There's no summer collection this year and the entire makeup collection is on sale on Sephora, will regular sales on the brand's site too. I hope I'm wrong, but with Becca announcing that they are closing in a few months, nothing would surprise me. The quality of Marc Jacobs products is up there with the best, so I took advantage of the reductions, with some products in this post: http://www.beautylymin.com/2021/05/some-recent-marc-jacobs-purchases.html and then went back for more, which I'm sharing with you today.

Extra Shot Caffeine Concealer and Foundation: I took a real chance on buying this because it's described as being full coverage, which is not what I usually go for, plus I took a chance ordering my shade online. It was a risk worth taking though because I got the shade spot on and the coverage isn't mask-like. It can be sheered out, plus using a hydrating primer first, really helps with how it blends. It has a doe foot applicator and I find that it's best to just dot on to one side of the face first, as it dries quite quickly, and then do the other half. It definitely does give enough coverage that concealer isn't necessary and it you wanted a very full coverage look, you will achieve it, but I personally just like it blended out to more of a light-medium coverage. The finish is radiant, healthy-looking skin - I love it so much more than I thought I would. The only con is that the bottle only contains 15ml of product, whereas most foundations contain 30ml, but with the coverage it gives, and the fact that a little goes a long way, it shouldn't be a problem. Available in 30 shades, which is excellent, and the swatches on site are spot on from what I can tell.

Velvet Primer - Epic Lash Primer: I haven't used a lash primer in YEARS! I just didn't see the point, but I love Marc Jacobs mascara, so i figured that the primer would be good too. Then I saw my friend Laura from Laura Lou Beauty demonstrate it and I was sold! Most lash primers are white, but this one is creamy-beige, so your mascara keeps its true colour when applied on top. The description says it can be worn overnight as a lash mask, but I haven't tried that as I use a lash serum. It has a densely packed wand, so you can see the volume that it adds as soon as you apply it, but once you apply mascara over the top, it really does take your lashes to another, volumised, dramatic level! If you like full, false look lashes, you'll love this!

Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara - Runway Edition: I've used several tubes of this mascara, so I thought I'd buy a back up while on sale. Now this mascara is one for those who like a lot of volume, drama and focus on the eyes. It gives a lot of attention to the eyes when worn alone, but paired with the primer and it's at another level. It doesn't flake, smudge or feel crispy. It adds volume and curl and is my all round favourite mascara!

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Extravagance! Limited Gold Edition Review & Swatches

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Extravagance! Limited Gold Edition Review & Swatches
Swatches are completely unedited.

Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Extravagance! Limited Gold Edition: I wanted this when it was first released, but couldn't justify another palette purchase at the time - probably not right now either, but at pretty much half price, I thought it'd be a sin not to buy it! The colours in it all work beautifully with my green eyes, but to be honest, I think it would look great on everyone. The formula is as I have come to expect from this brand - smooth, soft and creamy. They are so easy to apply and blend, they don't all just blend into one colour and the longevity is spot on - a good 9 hours later, they still look good. I like the balance of mattes, satins and shimmers (which work equally well applied with a flat brush as your finger. Overall, it's another hit from the brand and I'm delighted with my bargain!

Dew Everything Mini Coconut Gel Highlighter and Primer Set

Dew Everything Mini Coconut Gel Highlighter and Primer Set: Finally, I couldn't resist this cute set of minis, which contains the coconut face primer, which I already know I love, and three mini liquid highlighters. They really are the perfect size because it takes an age to finish a highlighter. There are three shades, which could double as liquid eyeshadows. One of them (Fantasy) is a limited edition shade.  The primer is very lightweight, yet hydrating - perfect for summer, and the formula of the highlighters is quite creamy, which makes them easy to apply with your fingers, sponge or a brush. This set would make a great gift!

Have you tried any of these products? Are you a fan of the brand? I'd love to hear!
