Nars Sunkissed Bronzing Cream Review

Nars Sunkissed Bronzing Cream Review

A few years ago when YSL discontinued their Les Sahariennes cream bronzer, I was so disappointed because it was a product I used every time that I did my makeup. I had never found a more natural looking cream bronzer...... until Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer came along last year!  Review here: http://www.beautylymin.com/2020/06/fenty-beauty-cream-cheek-products-worth.html I didn't think that I'd ever try another cream bronzer after that, because that one ticks all of the boxes for me, but I wasn't expecting a Nars cream bronzer! Laguna has been in my makeup bag since around 2006/7, and even though I have tried used and loved other bronzers, I will always have a Laguna in my stash! This cream bronzer is available on this side of the Atlantic now, but I ordered it from Sephora because I couldn't wait for it to release here. There is also a bronzing brush, which is more expensive than the Sunkissed Bronzing Cream itself, so I didn't bother buying it as I have other brushes that work perfectly. Has it lived up to my expectations?

You get 19g of product for £30, which is pretty pricey, but Nars isn't a cheap brand, however I find that the quality is there with the products, so I don't mind paying, plus it's not in the extortionate category of Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona ( both of which I love, by the way!).

Nars Sunkissed Bronzing Cream Review
Excuse the fingerprint - I couldn't resist testing the texture as soon as I opened it!

I like the packaging - a gold mirrored lid and round pot - basic, but easy to get your brush into. Like the powder version, it's available in two shades: Laguna and Casino (the former is lighter and the latter is darker), however I think that more shades should be available, as two shades aren't universal and Fenty Beauty has shown how this should be done.

In the pan, it looks much darker than the powder version, but when blended out, it's actually pretty much the same. The texture is so easy to work with as it's the perfect balance between creamy and stiff, so it's easy to place it and be sure that it will stay in a certain area, yet blend in very easily, to look natural. Of course, if you wanted to use it as an all over bronzer, to deepen a light foundation, you could, but I have only been using it to add some definition to my face - along my cheeks, forehead and a bit on my nose - kinda how Gywneth uses her SPF!

Does it beat the Fenty bronzer? Hard to say, as I really love both. It's certainly better value for money as you get more product for not very much more, in monetary terms. I didn't think that anything would come close to the Fenty bronzer, but this certainly has - the problem is that it's only available in two shades, as opposed to seven shades in Fenty. The blendability is on a par, as is the wear time, so really it comes down to whether either of the Nars shades suit you. If you have previously found that Laguna or Casino are right for your skin tone, I think you'l love the cream version, even if your skin isn't as dry as mine, as the texture isn't oily, and it gives an overall more natural look.

I guess I'll know which I prefer when it comes to empties/repurchase time and which I have reached for the most, but that will take a fair amount of time, given the amount of product in the Nars one. That being said, any time I wear makeup, I'll be reaching for these as cream products suit my dry skin perfectly.

Have you bought the new Nars Sunkissed Bronzing Cream? Do you plan to? I'd love to hear!

Available from Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Nars, Sephora and Selfridges. It's bound to come to other Nars stockists soon.
