Dior Forever Natural Nude Foundation review

Dior Forever Natural Nude Foundation review

Dior is a brand that I don't buy a lot of beauty products from, but they do foundation so well that I couldn't resist their new offering - Natural Nude Foundation. There are six foundations in the Dior Forever range and I have only tried one other - the Forever Skin Glow, which I reviewed here. I loved that foundation, but like the sound of this nude version, as I like the look of a natural complexion these days, particularly when we're approaching the summer months. I've been using it for around a month now and am ready to share my thoughts with you.

It's described as giving the skin a natural and luminous finish, with a wear-time of 24 hours (who wears their makeup for this long?!), and being enriched with 96% ingredients of natural origin (a skin reviving complex, which is comprised of extracts of three flowers with skincare benefits - pansy, nasturtium and hibiscus flower), with a high concentration of water, which makes the skin feel hydrated and like it can breathe, rather than being masked with product. There is a very faint floral scent, which soon disappears, so don't let that put you off if you are not a fan of floral scents. Also, skin should improve over time, if worn regularly. Sounds exactly like my kind of base!

Texture: It's a liquid, but doesn't feel watery, so you have time to buff it into the skin before it slides off. When it's on the skin, it's literally weightless and doesn't feel like I have any base product on. Love it!

Application: I find that this foundation works best with a buffing brush and then finished with a beauty sponge - however if you just always prefer to use a beauty sponge to apply your foundation, it will work fine. The buffing brush is just my personal preference.

CoverageOne layer evens out my skin tone and is ample coverage, in my opinion. The coverage is medium, but looks very natural. It could be sheered out to minimal coverage, by using less product and your fingers to apply.

Finish: The finish is natural, yet luminous - like healthy skin of a person who avoids sugar and has a perfect diet, no skin issues or texture and wears minimal makeup! It really is a beautiful base and a great way to cheat looking healthier than you are!

Wear time: I obviously haven't worn this for 24 hours - who does that? The longest I've worn it for is around 9 hours and it was perfectly in tact, despite a mask being worn over it for a good four of those hours. I have worn it with a primer (which I do the majority of the time), and also just with IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion as a base - it wears well both ways.

Shade range: There are 17 shades, which is quite limited compared to the Glow foundation. The shades are broken down into cool, neutral and warm. I guessed my shade as 3N and got it spot on.

Overall thoughts: In case you couldn't tell already, I love this foundation! It ticks every box for me - weightless, natural finish with medium coverage, yet still looks like skin, long-wearing and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I also love the packaging, which always feels luxurious from this brand! A glass bottle, with a pump and white logo/writing. I would give this foundation 9/10 - the shade range is all that lets it down.

Available from Feel Unique, DIOR, Brown Thomas and Arnotts.

Have you tried this foundation? Are you tempted to? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
