It's always really difficult to narrow down makeup favourites, but this year was easier as I have worn a lot less than any other year - like most people, I'm guessing? But on the occasions that I did wear makeup, I reached for ones that are reliable and quick & easy to use! I'd love to hear your favourites......
Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Perfecting Foundation: Let's get the price out of the way to start with - this is a pricey foundation, but it's 100% worth it. A little goes a long way, and the finish from one pump is light coverage, but when I add a second layer, it gives my skin the most flawless look, but in a natural way. It has a satin finish, takes a little while to settle down and, best of all, doesn't settle into any of my pores or fine lines. It's so lightweight that I don't even notice it on my skin and it has a really good wear time of 9/10 hours (although I do always wear primer!). It's pretty much the perfect foundation for those who don't like full coverage, a matte or dewy finish. Review here.
Pat McGrath Fetish Eyes Mascara: I adore this mascara because it gives a nice amount of volume, it draws attention to the eyes, it doesn't make my lashes go crispy, it's very black and it doesn't flake or smudge - what more could I ask for? Keep an eye on Pat's site, as it's often reduced!
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise: I've raved about these so many times and with good reason - they're just so easy to use. They make it look like you've actually made an effort, when really, it's just a quick swipe of a cream shadow. They're different from other cream shadows thought because they are so forgiving on the eye - smoothing, and when they set, they don't budge! I'll never be without them and need to add the two new shades to my collection! Review & swatches here.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbriush Bronzer: I really tried to resist buying this, but I couldn't! Everything about it is stunning, from the packaging, to the texture and the finish this bronzer gives. It pretty much tops all other bronzers because it looks so natural and it glides over pores, to give the skin an airbrushed look - dreamy!
Natasha Denona Bronze Eyeshadow Palette: This just spoke to me as soon as it was on pre-release! All of the shades suit my green eyes so well, but I think it would work perfectly for every eye colour. Natasha does eyeshadow so well - so much better than any other product in her range, and this doesn't disappoint - pigmented, creamy, long-lasting. I can't ask for more and I love that she's doing this size palette now, which is more affordable and realistic for most people. Review & swatches here.
Too Faced Natural Nude Lipstick: This seems to be discontinued, which I'm really disappointed about because it feels like it's my perfect nude. It's so comfortable on the lips - feels like a balm but lasts like a lipstick. The peachy-pinky nude shade is ultra-flattering on my skin tone and works with so many of my liners, I'm just gutted that I won't be able to repurchase!
Scott Barnes brushes: I don't want to use any other brushes! These make doing my makeup such an easy job! They make products blend themselves - not a harsh line will be seen when using these, they wash so well and are still like new. They're multi-tasking and pretty much tick every box for me! They're not as expensive as I had expected, but the code definitely helps if you want to buy a few - I started with one of two and then went back for more time and time again! I'm still thinking that I'll buy some backups! It's brilliant that brands like this have come to Look Fantastic! Review here. Save 20% by using the code LYMIN at checkout.
