Miranda Kerr hasn't aged since she first came on the scene back in the mid-noughties, despite having had two children. She looks as fresh faced as she's ever been! When she released her own line of organic, cruelty-free, results-driven skincare, powered by superfood extracts, named Kora Organics, I couldn't wait to get my hands on some products. It's a curated line, with 10 products in total and Cult Beauty kindly sent me four to test around five weeks ago and I want to share my thoughts with you today. Spoiler alert - I already want to buy the rest of the range!
Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating Mask: Miranda says that she keeps this in her shower to use daily, this is not something that I do - for two reasons. 1. I don't do my skincare in the shower (however I understand that for busy people, this is what suits) and 2. I personally wouldn't use this on a daily basis. This mask contains turmeric, which is a known anti-inflammatory agent, but it also helps to improve pigmentation, it also contains papaya enzymes, which are natural AHAs, which gently exfoliate the skin. Aspen bark and peppermint help to prevent bacteria and cool the skin, and rosehip seeds nourish the skin and even skin tone. It is applied to damp skin and left on for 5-15 minutes, depending on how used to exfoliation your skin is (and the time you have available), I then massage it in to my skin, for some extra exfoliation, before removing with a cloth, or rinsing. I find that my skin is left a little red, yet it isn't at all sore and this also dissipates after a short while. This mask really does leave my skin feeing very smooth and soft and looking radiant. I personally wouldn't use it more than twice weekly, because I think that it's enough for my skin. P.S. The colour is anything but flattering and will give your postman/woman a laugh if you have it on and have to answer the door to them!
Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum: My skin used to be very sensitive to Vitamin C, but over the last 6-9 months, I have noticed that I can now use it daily, which I am very happy about because my skin needs it as I have some pigmentation but also, it really does help with texture and it brightens and firms the skin. I'll be honest, I hadn't heard of noni fruit before now but after doing some research, it really does seem to be a super food. This serum is a pretty potent blend of noni fruit, rosehip oil, sea buckthorn oil and green tea. Despite being a potent blend, this didn't irritate my skin at all, and I can use it daily without any problem. I have been banging on for ages about this little patch of pigmentation on my cheek for months (well, years really, but it tends to be worse in summer) and it looks even worse when I apply fake tan - I know there are bigger problems in the world, but this has been bothering me. I have seen a huge improvement since using this serum and the night serum. The little patch is barely noticeable at all now. Coupled with that, my skin is looking bright and has some luminosity, which, honestly, is a miracle given how ill I have been/still am. Between Lyme/the long-lingering after-effects of Covid and then pneumonia, I've really been through the mill this year and yet, taking care of my skin has helped disguise what I've been through. It's also good for me, mentally, to have my skincare ritual.
Noni Night AHA Resurfacing Serum: Another potent serum, which combines organic Noni, Sicilian White Grapes, Willow Bark, Lemon Peel Ferment, and Caviar Lime. The combination of AHAs and BHA, means that my pores are deeply cleansed to dissolve sebum, but it also exfoliates the surface to reveal more radiant skin. It also protects and encourages cellular renewal to help the texture, tones and overall glow of the skin. This serum at night, combined with the Vitamin C serum in the morning has my skin feeling smooth, soft and firm. I am honestly delighted with the results and don't want to finish either, yet can't stop using them because of the results they give!
Noni Glow Face Oil: I tend to finish my routine with an oil most nights - I keep at least one beside my bed to apply if I haven't already done so in the bathroom. This oil is very nourishing - my skin still feels soft the morning after use, which is no mean feat, given that my skin is so dry naturally. It combines noni fruit extracts, rosehip oil and sea buckthorn oil and the result is really nourished, glowing skin that doesn't feel greasy as it's so easy to massage into the skin. It has quite a light texture so you can also try adding a drop to a foundation that can sometimes feel a little heavy or drying on the skin and it won't break it down or make it slide off your face.
I honestly really love all four products and know that I can't leave it at that, I need to try more from the range - I have a feel that the Noni Glow Sleeping Mask would be right up my street!
So, to answer my own question - do I look like Miranda Kerr yet? No, but I do look like a better, less ill, version of myself and I'll take that!
