We take care of the skin on our face and body so it makes sense that we should do the same with our scalps, right? But when you think about it, most of use neglect this area, just taking care of our hair with shampoo, conditioner and hair masks/treatments (if we're lucky!), but not really our scalps. The weather, central heating, illness, products and stress can all have adverse reactions on our scalps to today I want to share three products with you that I think work brilliantly. You don't need all three but they all work in different ways.
Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask*: If you suffer from an irritated scalp, this is the product for you. It's a combination of a mask and exfoliator, which means that it exfoliates the scalp using the Hungarian Moor Mud it contains but it also contains a blend of essential oils, apricot kernel oil and salicylic acid, all of which combine to stimulate blood circulation and help to rejuvenate the scalp. It's a pre-shampoo treatment - applied to a dry scalp, massaged in and left for around 20 minutes before rinsing. It feels quite tingly but in a revitalising way and it shampoos out very easily. I'd highly recommend this if you have an itchy or irritated scalp, with once weekly use.
Grow Gorgeous Serum Intense: I've mentioned this serum several times on the blog because I use it every Spring to help my hair after the effects of a cold winter and also to get it looking good for summer. It take around 4 months to see the full effects of this serum but I begin to see results after around 6 weeks. I tend to use it at night rather than in the morning but that's just my preference. I massage around 20 drops into my scalp and I really take my time doing it to make sure I'm covering my entire scalp. Not only does it help growth in terms of length but this particular one also helps in terms of density, which I really appreciate as my hair is quite fine. Medication and illness have really taken their toll on my hair but this serum has really helped.
Omorovicza Scalp Reviver*: The latest scalp product from Omorovicza. This is a brilliant alternative to dry shampoo, which can be very irritating to sensitive scalps but also causes build up and can make hair feel dirty, ironically! This contains salicylic acid, which prevents product build up (rather than add to it), it also absorbs excess oil, which replaces the need for dry shampoo and it contains menthol and camphor to soothe the scalp. I find this brilliant to use in between washes to make hair look less oily and feel fresher. It's particularly great for when you are training your hair to last longer between washes ( and lockdown is the perfect time to do that!). It also really reduces irritation.
Do you use specific products to take care of your scalp? I'd love to hear!
