Review: Bioderma skincare

Review: Bioderma skincare
Some of these products were kindly gifted to me and I also won some in a giveaway late last year.

Bioderma* is one of those brands that was elusive years back when Pixiwoo used to talk about it (well unless you lived in France, that is!) and we all wanted it! I even paid extortionate shipping just to get my hands on the original micellar water back in the day! I was kindly gifted some products and I also won some on Irish Beauty Fairy's page late last year so I thought I'd put them all together and share my thoughts with you.

I'll start with the products that most people associate with the brand at first thought - their micellar waters. I have both the original Bioderma Sensibio H2O* and Hydrabio H2O. The former is aimed at those with sensitive skin and the latter is aimed at those who have sensitive and dehydrated skin. There's no doubt that both remove makeup very easily, particularly eye makeup, however I much prefer the Hydrabio as I feel it suits my dry skin better. I also feel that the original leaves my skin a little dry and a small film on my skin that requires extra cleansing. They are both extremely gentle on the skin and I don't feel the need to rub or tug on my eyes at all. I use micellar waters if I have my lash extensions on or if I just don't want to use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup. I know that some people like to use a micellar water as their morning cleanse but I still prefer to use an actual cleanser in the morning.

As you can tell from the photo above, I used these products before photographing them, which is something that I don't usually do! What you can also tell from the photo above is that I fell in love with the Sensibio Rich Soothing Cream* because I have already cut the tube in half! Although it's described as being rich, it doesn't feel greasy or as though there is a layer of product sitting on the skin - on the contrary, I find that it absorbs very well, leaving my skin plump, soft and very nourished. I know that some people will have issue with the fact that it contains mineral oil, however I don't have an issue with mineral  oil being in an affordable product - it's when luxury brands use it as a filler and charge extortionate prices, I have an issue. This moisturiser contains glycerin and avocado oil, both of which are really nourishing and I have found this is the perfect moisturiser to use after strong acids or retinol. There is also a light version available here. I'll be repurchasing this.

From the Sensibio range, I also have the Eye Contour Gel*, which I prefer to use in the morning rather than evening as it's soothing but also depuffs the under eye area. I love how cooling it feels and know that this will be even more appreciated in the warmer months. I have very sensitive eyes and it doesn't make them itch at all and because it's a gel formula, I haven't found it to cause any milia.

The final product I have is Hydrabio Serum Moisturising Concentrate, which I use as a serum, rather than a moisturiser. Not only does this contain glycerin and hyaluronic acid but it also contains a patented ingredient, Aquagenium, which teaches the skin to moisturise itself again. This serum absorbs quickly, doesn't pill at all when layered with other products. The hydration can be felt immediately - skin is instantly comfortable and feels plump but what's great is that the hydrating feeling lasts throughout the day. This is another one that I'll repurchase when I finish it and I have to mention that I love that t has a pump dispenser.

Overall, I can attest to the fact that this is a great mid-budget brand that I would highly recommend trying if you are looking for some new skincare that won't break the bank.

Have you tried any products from the brand? I'd love to hear your favourites?
