Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial - worth the hype?

Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Review, Skincare, Worth the hype?
I bought this myself.

Have you entered my Rejuvenated bundle giveaway here?

Drunk Elephant is one of those brands that has courted a lot of controversy over the past year. There were photos and videos on Instagram of people binning lots of their products, such was their anger at the brand after a falling out with Caroline Hirons (amongst other alleged issues). Now I really respect Caroline but there was no way that I was binning products that I love, are expensive and that I personally find to be very effective for my skin. I've tried quite a few products from the brand - some are outstanding and others are a little 'meh' in my opinion but, as always, with skincare - what works well for one may not suit the next person. It's all very subjective. Today I want to talk about their latest release, F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial, which I knew I wanted to buy as soon as I heard the name, in advance of its release! I have skin like the Sahara (both dry and dehydrated) so anything that promises to quench its thirst and give a much needed injection of moisture will always grab my interest.

As with most (if not, all?) Drunk Elephant, F-Balm has a mini of another product that is recommended for us with it, in the box. I think this is a good idea as it gives you a chance to try the product on its own but also in conjunction with another DE product, without having to spend extra. In this case, there is a mini of T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, which is a BHA and AHA serum, applied at night as part of a cocktail or else layered, which is my preference as I'm not the biggest fan of the Drunk Elephant 'cocktail' method.

F-Balm is so named due to the Vitamin F it contains. Vitamin F contains a blend of linolenic and linoleic acids, which are fatty acids, known to nourish and replenish skin's moisture. It also contains a blend of ingredients, which help to repair and strengthen the skin's barrier such as niacinamide, squalane and ceramides.

It is designed to be used as an overnight mask, as the very last step in your routine so that means over  serum, moisturiser, oil etc, which is perfect for dry skin although I think for those with oily or combination skin, it would easily replace your night time moisturiser rather than be worn with it.

My personal favourite way to use it is after Baby Facial (review here),  using a hydrating serum to balance my skin and then this on top to really replenish and plump my skin. It sinks in pretty easily, doesn't make my skin feel like it will stick to the pillow and is instantly soothing.

I have fallen really hard for this mask (and have to stop myself from using it every night) because it leaves my skin looking so radiant, plump and firm, feeling smooth and soft and reduces inflammation. It basically leaves my skin looking like I've had around 12 hours sleep, have been drinking lots of water and have been eating well, which is no mean feat given that the reality is very different due to the medication I am on at the moment.

If you have sensitive, dry, tight, dry or dehydrated skin that could do with a shot of moisture that will also calm any redness, then I highly recommend giving this a go. If your skin is less problematic and reactive than mine but is dehydrated, you will also enjoy this product although you may not have to layer it in the same way that I do.

For me, this is another absolute win from Drunk Elephant. One that I can see myself repurchasing regularly.

Have you tried F-Balm? Are you planning to? I'd love to hear!
