Too Faced Let It Snow Girl Review & Swatches

Too Faced Let It Snow Girl Review & Swatches

Have you entered my Christmas giveaway here?

In my Christmas Gift Guide, I included this gorgeous Let It Snow Girl Set from Too Faced and I had to revisit to show you swatches and give you a full run through the products in the set as it is just so beautiful! Obviously the design is quite cutesy, which may not be to everyone's taste but even if you aren't a fan of the packaging, I urge you to look past that because the quality of the products inside is really brilliant.

There are three palettes and one mascara in the set - the mascara is a Better Than Sex mini, which I raved about here. All of the palettes have a sweet scent (like warm cookies), but don't worry as it isn't overpowering and you can't smell it when the products are on your face.

Inside the head (that sounds wrong!) of the snow doll, is a bronzer and highlighter. The chocolate soleil bronzer is really beautiful in texture - very finely milled and applies evenly without any patchiness. The highlighter (Angel Wings) texture is equally as beautiful and is a gorgeous champagne shade.

The upper body contains four blushes and it has reminded me how much I love the formula of Too Faced blushes - smooth, finely milled and pigmented. The shades are Snow Kissed (a muted pink shade), Pink Christmas (a bright pink shade), Merry And Bright (a peachy/coral hybrid shade - my personal favourite) and Christmas Dream (a plum shade). There's definitely something to suit all skin tones and looks.

I've said before on numerous occasions on the blog that I absolutely love the formula of Too Faced eyeshadows. In my opinion, they are the best mid-budget eyeshadow brand so I was curious if the quality in this limited edition palette would be on a par with the permanent palettes.  Before I go into how they perform, I have to say that I love the shade selection and number of finishes in this palette. There are neutrals, glitters and pops of colour. The only thing missing is a matte black, which I personally love to see in all palettes. Some of the shadows feel slightly chunky in the pan but all apply so smoothly and evenly. The glitter is outstanding - I generally find glitter shadows difficult to work with unless they are a liquid formula but this silver glitter is so smooth. The mattes are pigmented and creamy - so easy to work with and the satins apply like a cream. All are a dream to use. Now on to the shades themselves:

Break The Ice: Silver/taupe metallic.

Toff Cookie: Matte taupe/brown.

Sugar Snow: Purple shimmer.

Tiny Prancer: Rose gold satin.

Cookies Served: Warm matte brown.

Cookie Butter: Warm cream matte.

Treat Yo Elf: Mid green shimmer.

Obvious-Sleigh: Deep red/terracotta matte.

Fine Cone: Light brown matte.

Gimme Cookies: Medium brown shimmer.

Snow Glowbe: Silver glitter with a purple shift.

Crumb Luck: Rose/brown hybrid satin.

Resting Wish Face: Deep berry/pink matte.

Jolly Gosh: Bronze/brown metallic.

Let It Shimmer: Warm champagne/pale gold shimmer.

Slay Bells: Rose gold/copper hybrid metallic.

My only con with this palette is that some of the matte browns are similar so it would have been nice to swap one of those for a matte black but thats just my opinion! Other than that, I love it and think that any makeup lover would enjoy the whole set. It's pretty good value too at £46 for the three palettes and one mascara.

Would you like to find this under the tree this Christmas?

Available from Debenhams UK/Ireland, Cult Beauty and ASOS.
