Have you entered my Christmas giveaway here?
I don't know about you but my skin is really feeling the effects of winter, central heating and an open fire in the house. Actually, it's not just my skin, my hair and lips are also feeling the effects so I'm on a mission to nourish everything from head to toe! I want to share some of my top picks with you today.
Body: I'm aware that not everyone has the time nor inclination to moisturise their body daily and if you're one of them, then I highly recommend using L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil* because it nourishes the skin and leaves it feeling moisturised but not greasy. It lathers nicely, smells amazing and rinses away to leave skin feeling soft and nourished.
Another great bath item is Ameliorate Softening Bath Milk Oil*, which both hydrates and softens skin using its unique LaH6 Skin Hydration Complex. It doesn't feel at all greasy and skin is noticeably softer after just one bath!
If you do like to use a body moisturiser (I can't go a day without using one), I recommend going for a cream or butter, rather than a light lotion as they tend to be more nourishing. The current go-to products are Caudalie Vine Body Butter* and Palmers Cocoa Butter Body Lotion The Caudalie product is enriched with grape seed oil and shea butter, both of which are very nourishing but I love that it's non-greasy and I can get dressed immediately after applying. The Cocoa Butter body lotion is a rich lotion that takes a little time to absorb but once it does, skin is supple, nourished and soft. It also smells amazing!
You can't go wrong with any L'Occitane hand cream* but at the moment, I am using the limited edition Festive Hand Cream*, which nourishes my hands without leaving them greasy and also smells beautiful (ylang ylang and mandarin). If you watch my empties on Instastories, you will know that I use so many hand creams from this brand!
Hair: At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I have to mention Coco & Eve Hair Masque, which not only smells beautiful (a combination of coconut and fig) but it is also super nourishing. It leaves my hair smooth, soft, strong and bouncy. It also doesn't weigh it down and it banishes frizz too. It's pricey but a little goes a long way! Another great product that is also coconut scented is Color Wow Dream Cocktail Coconut Infused. It's a leave in treatment (you only need a tiny amount of product per use) that I apply to the lengths of my hair to protect and tame frizz. The formula penetrates the hair to nourish and heal. This travel size has lasted me a few months so it's worth starting with a mini.
Face & lips: At night, I regularly use Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask, which is creamy and nourishing - perfect for cold winter nights. It also contains a gentle exfoliator in the form of a PHA, which helps the skin to achieve a glow. Another product that I have re-introduced is Alpha-H Essential Hydration Concentrate, which is a rich oil that can be applied alone or used as a booster with your regular moisturiser. It contains a blend of plant oils and vitamins to intensely nourish the skin and leave it feeling really comfortable, soft and supple. A recent addition to my routine that I am loving is Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster*, which helps to restore the skin's natural barrier and calm inflammation and redness (this is an issue for me at the best of times but especially in winter). It has an oil texture that instantly soothes and calms the skin and it also nourishes. A perfect winter product!
I'm never without a lip balm and my current go-to is L'Occitane Limited Edition Lip Balm*, which is super nourishing. There have been some new shades added to the L'Occitane lipstick line and Pomel-Hot* is my favourite seasonal shade. These lipsticks are nourishing as they contain Vitamin E and fruit oil so they are comfortable on the lips, especially in winter. This shade is a stunning red, perfect for the Christmas season!
Have you switched things up recently to inject some moisture into your routine? I'd love to hear!
