2019 Favourites: Hair & Body

2019 Favourites: Hair & Body, My favourite hair and body products of 2019

Have you entered my Christmas giveaway here?

I cannot believe that it's yearly favourites time again. Where has this year gone?! For the rest of the week, I'm going to be sharing the cream of the crop of products from 2019. Today is hair and body products, tomorrow is skincare, Thursday will be makeup and on Friday, I'll share all of the discoveries I made this year. I like to put discoveries into a separate post because otherwise, the posts would just be too long! If anything was sent to me, it will be marked with a *. Let's get into it...

Haircare:

Olaplex No3: I'm sure that regular readers are bored of me talking about this product but it's just soooo good! It isn't a hair mask, which confuses some people - it's a pre-shampoo treatment. It's brilliant for anyone with brittle, damaged hair because it injects moisture and strengthens the hair like no other product that I have tried. If you have frizzy, damaged, difficult hair, I urge you to give this a try. I find that a little goes a long way with it.

Revlon Professional Equave Detangling Spray: Another product that I have raved about several times on the blog. I have very knotty hair so I need to use a detangling spray before combing through but iI also really dislike anything that feels heavy in my hair. I have fine hair but lots of it, so I can't use anything that will weigh it down. A few quick spritzes of this detangling spray sees my tangle teezer glide through my hair without any tugging, which in turn means less breakage. Again, a little goes a long way and it has been a staple in my routine for a few years.

Coco & Eve Coconut and Fig Super Nourishing Masque: I'm so sorry that I really am boring my regular readers because this is another much raved about product. I have used hair masks for years, probably since I was around 13 and this is honestly one of the very best that I have used. It nourishes the hair, banishes frizz, repairs and strengthens - oh and it smells amazing! It contains a combination of argan oil, shea butter, coconut oil and fig, which sounds like a heavy list of ingredients but you really don't need to use a lot of product plus it rinses easily and thoroughly so there is no need to worry about it weighing the hair down or feeling like there is a lot of product in the hair.

Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo: The BEST dry shampoo ever! This doesn't leave a white cast on the hair, it absorbs excess oil and it makes hair smell and clean fresh. It's so unlike other dry shampoos because it doesn't feel like there is a lot of product in the hair and it also adds some volume, which I love. I always have a backup of this on the go!

Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray: I actually can't imagine doing my hair without this product because it gives my hair a salon finish. Some light sprays throughout the lengths of my hair protects against heat damage, seals the hair shaft, banishes humidity and leaves hair frizz-free. Best of all, it keeps my style until I next wash it - almost like an invisible hair spray. It deserves so much more hype!

Bodycare:

Ameliorate Smoothing Body Exfoliant*: This is a product that I bought before it was kindly gifted to me and I will continue to repurchase myself because I love how soft it leaves my limbs. It is different from most body exfoliants in that it is applied to dry skin and left to work for around 15 minutes before showering to remove. It contains lactic acid, which helps to banish the horrible bumps that can appear on the backs of upper arms and thighs, but it also contains a physical exfoliator in the form of bamboo granules. It leaves the skin feeling smooth but not stripped because it also contains shea butter and coconut oil, which nourish the skin.

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion*: Another product from this brand that I purchased myself before being kindly sent it. This works in a similar way to the exfoliant in that it contains lactic acid, which helps to banish bumpy skin, but it also works wonders on areas of ingrown hairs. With a few weeks of consistent use, skin is as soft as a baby's bum rather than as rough as a chicken's thigh!

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil*: I'm repeating myself again but this is another product that I bought many times before and after being sent it. I just love the scent and the fact that it nourishes my skin without leaving it feeling greasy. I use it all year round but find it particularly great in winter when my skin feels parched.

Margaret Dabbs Foot File: Not the most glamorous of products but this is absolutely brilliant for getting rid of any areas of hard skin on the soles of the feet or ankles. Used once weekly on dry skin is sufficient to banish all signs of dry skin. It's definitely the best foot file I have used and I love that it comes with replacement foot pads. Margaret Dabbs Intensive Hydrating Foot Lotion: Not pictured above as I need to repurchase but this lotion is the best for keeping feet nourished without feeling greasy. Applied after filing and feet feel brand new. We're on our feet a lot so I think it's important to take care of them. This lotion absorbs quickly and smells gorgeous due to the lemon oil it contains. Used daily ensures that skin is soft and smooth. Again, if you use the code LYMIN, you will receive 20% off at the checkout on Look Fantastic.
