Have you entered my beauty bundle giveaway here?
I think that it's been well established on the blog that I am a massive fan of Charlotte Tilbury makeup products! I've tried something from pretty much every category of products and her lipsticks are among my favourites (see review and swatch post here). I love both the Matte Revolution and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formulas as they are creamy, comfortable to wear and, of course, the packaging is stunning. When she first released her line of Superstar lipsticks, I wondered what made them different from the originals and I recently had the opportunity to find out when I was kindly sent two from the range.
Housed in the same stunning packaging as the original lipsticks, the Superstar lips are slimmer and contain 1.8 grams of product compared to 3.5grams in the originals. The slimline packaging is ideal for popping into a small handbag for a night out. The tip is slanted so that it can hug the lips and it's very easy to achieve a precise application with this style of tip.
There is a lightly sweet scent from the lipsticks and the formula is like a balm without any sticky or greasy feeling. They contain hyaluronic acid, which hydrates the lips and emollient oil, which gives the lips a glossy finish. I love how these lipsticks make my lips look plump, full and quite glossy but have more staying power than a tinted balm or gloss. They feel so comfortable, especially if you have dry lips.
There are nine shades available and I was kindly sent two: Pillow Talk and Princess Kiss. The pigmentation is medium and the wear time is pretty short, due to the formula but I actually don't mind this as they are easy to top up on the go due to the slim tip.
Swatches are completely unedited. Top is Pillow Talk and bottom is Princess Kiss. |
Pillow Talk is a classic, pretty much universally flattering, shade. It's often described as 'your lips, but better' as it's a pinky nude. It can be worn all year round both day and night.
Princess Kiss is a rosy pink that gives the lips a luminous look. I can imagine wearing this non-stop in Spring and summer.
This range is another great addition to the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick line. I highly recommend trying them if you're in the market for a new lip product. They'd also make a gorgeous Christmas gift!
I'd love to hear your thoughts....
Available from Charlotte Tilbury, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, John Lewis, Brown Thomas and Selfridges.
