Have you seen all of the new Christmas releases from Charlotte Tilbury? I adore the midnight blue packaging of this year's limited edition products and I basically want everything but settled (so far) on buying just one thing, which is the Magic Star Highlighter.
I know, I know - I really did not need yet another highlighter but there is something about the formula of Charlotte Tilbury highlighters that I just cannot resist! This seems to be an exclusive to Charlotte's site as I have yet to spot it on any other site that stocks her brand and it's also an online exclusive so you won't see it in stores.
The design on the case has a base of midnight blue with silver stars and a gold starburst design with the CT logo at the centre. Inside is a decent size lid and 12g of product, which is quite a lot for a highlighter. The embossing on the product itself is almost too pretty to touch.....almost!
The formula is extremely finely milled, smooth and soft. This is the reason that I love Charlotte's highlighters so much - they apply evenly, without settling in fine lines so if you have mature skin or are conscious of any texture or lines, I recommend investing in one. It contains pearlescent pigments, which give the skin a beautiful sheen without looking like it has been dipped in glitter. If you want to increase the intensity, you can apply it wet.
One the website, the shade is described as champagne gold but on my skin, it has some warmth and almost looks like a light peach/gold. If you have her Bar of Gold palette (review & swatches here), you will know that one of the shades in that is a true gold - Magic Star is different from that. Yes, it's gold but with a peach shift. I honestly don't know how many highlighters I own (definitely in excess of 30) but I don't have another shade quite like this so I am glad I bought it. Once applied, I don't need to top it up as it's very long-lasting and it doesn't cake or settle into fine lines after a few hours.
This product gets a 10/10 from me because I really cannot fault it! I adore the shade and the formula, not to mention the packaging. If you fancy treating yourself or want to buy a gift for someone who loves highlighters, I highly recommend buying this but it's bound to sell out so don't delay! Available here for £35.
