For some reason (and I really don't know why), bareMinerals is a brand that I have tried very little from. I dabbled in some foundations around 3/4 years ago and I love their Good Hydrations Silky Face Primer but I've tried little more than that. When I was browsing Sephora at the end of August, I noticed that the barePro 16 Hour Full Coverage Concealer and bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer were reduced to $10 each. It reminded me that I had used the serum concealer a few years ago and really liked it and I had heard good things about the barePro so I thought I'd snap them both up - at that price, it would be rude not to!
Like I said, I had the bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer previously and I still love it as much as I did a few years ago. It's hydrating and has a bit of slip but isn't overly creamy so I don't need to worry about creasing (I don't always set my concealer, in fact, I rarely do). It offers full coverage without the heavy feeling that can often accompany that level of coverage. The finish is radiant - neither glowy nor matte and, for this reason, it works well all over my face but, particularly, on my under eye area. It has a flat, doe foot applicator, which is flexible and this makes it perfect for the inner eye area as it's easy to ensure I don't poke my eyes out! Overall, I'm delighted to have this back in my life and I'd recommend it to anyone with dry skin.
I tend to avoid stick concealers but the barePro 16 Hour Full Coverage Concealer had been on my radar for a while as I've seen a few people, whose opinion I trust, rave about it. The formula is surprisingly creamy but weightless. It blends effortlessly into the skin and settles to a soft matte finish, giving full coverage. I personally am not a fan of a matte finish under the eyes but it's perfect to use on blemishes, areas of redness or pigmentation. Of course, it's entirely possible to use it in the under eye area, I just choose not to. It is so easy to use - perfect for days when you're in a rush - just a few swipes and then it can be blended in with fingers, a brush or a sponge. I haven't tested the 16 hour wear claim but it is definitely long-wearing and budgeproof. It also claims to be waterproof although I haven't tested that.
Is it necessary to own both concealers? No, but if you are in the market for a new concealer, I highly recommend trying one of these. They offer full coverage without caking or creasing and they feel lightweight on the skin. I really couldn't ask for more!
Have you tried either of these? Are you tempted to? I'd love to hear!
Available from bareMinerals, Debenhams UK/Ireland, Feel Unique and Look Fantastic.
