The best cream shadow formula - Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise

There is no doubt that cream shadows are a busy or lazy girl's best friend but they are not all created equally! I have very dry skin but for some bizarre reason, my lids are oily, which means that a lot of eyeshadows disappear or crease quite quickly. Until a few years ago, I wouldn't have even considered wearing a cream shadow as they were just a waste of time but these days, they are my main go-to eye products. Of course, this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't discovered Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise cream shadows, which are the best cream shadows on the market.

These cream shadows have a mousse-cream formula, which is enriched with Vitamin E. They apply well with either fingers or a flat shader brush and I find that they are moderately pigmented but buildable. I love that they can be layered without any risk of crumbling and with a very light layer, a sheer wash of colour can be achieved.

Because of the mousse formula, they apply very smoothly and spread easily. I find that they set quite quickly but never feel hard. What I love most is that, even on my oily lids, they last so well. I get a good 9/10 hours wear time from them, maybe even more. I usually wear a primer but not always and even on occasions where I forget to wear it, these shadows are still long-lasting. They are also good as cream shadow bases but I generally wear them alone - laziness or I just love the shades? I suppose it's a bit of both!

There are seven shades available and I have three, which are Mona Lisa, which is a Chocolate Bronze shade, Veruschka, which is a Golden Grey shade and Rose Gold, which is exactly as the name suggests. I find Rose Gold so easy to wear as an every day shade and need to buy a back up.

You don't need to have amazing makeup skills to wear these shadows - they really do the work for you as a quick application and windscreen wiper- motion blend is all that's needed. The sheen they give to lids really does make eyes pop!
