In case you haven't heard, Pat McGrath makeup is now available in Selfridges (apparently for a limited 3 month period, but hopefully it will be permanent). I am a massive fan of the brand so I'm delighted that I now don't have to pay for shipping from the U.S. If you are near London, I recommend making a trip to see the beautiful products in all their glory! Last year when I was in New York, I swatched pretty much every Pat McGrath product on the stand. If you don't have a store near you, or they don't deliver to your country, you can order directly from the Pat McGrath website as there is international shipping offered on there. I have a small collection from the brand that I love but I am by no means finished!
Eyeshadows: There is no doubt that the stars of the show are the eyeshadows. The pricing of her palettes is very similar to Natasha Denona - we're talking premium prices, and not everyone will be either willing or able to spend money on a full palette but she has recently released single shadows, which are till pricey at £23 each but at least they are more accessible than the full palettes. As you can see from the photo above, I have one of her 10 pan palettes and also one of her 6 pan palettes. The packaging of the 10 pan palette is super luxe - heavy, glossy black with a little gold detail. The 6 pan packaging is a little different as the outer box is not removable, but it still screams luxury, which is what you want when you spend so much money on a palette. The shadows themselves really are the very best in every respect - pigmentation, texture and wear time. One swipe gives full opacity regardless of finish. The formula is so finely milled that the shadows feel buttery soft. They practically blend themselves and the finish of the shimmers is akin to a foil. The glitter shadows are non chunky - perfect for those with sensitive eyes. When I tell you that there are no negatives to these shadows (well, apart from the price tag!), it's no exaggeration. They are the best of the best and deserve the hype they get.
Lipsticks: Hands down, the best lipstick packaging! I adore the black casing and gold lip accent. Available in both matte and luxe/satin finishes, these lipsticks are intensely pigmented, smooth in formula and both finishes are very comfortable on the lips. Neither finish is drying and they don't highlight any lines on the lips (it's always worth exfoliating and moisturising your lips regularly). In terms of wear time, I find that I get around 4/5 hours, which is pretty standard for all lipsticks, in my experience. No luxury lipstick collection is complete without one of these!
Lip Liner: I love the gel formula of the lip liners because they are so easy to use, they don't tug on the lips and are so comfortable to wear. They are pigmented and, without doubt, the longest lasting liner that I own. Like everything else within the brand, they aren't cheap but if you are looking for a long-lasting and comfortable lip liner, I highly recommend trying these.
Lip Gloss: These glosses feel more like balms on the lips than a gloss. They aren't sticky, which is a must have. The formula is smooth, which means that it applies without any streaks and the finish is hi-shine! Some are pretty pigmented, others work best as lip toppers but either way, the glossy finish is beautiful.
I definitely need to try her new mascara and a highlighter next!
Have you tried anything from Pat McGrath, or are you planning to? I'd love to hear!
