Brand Overview: Pixi Makeup

The very first Pixi makeup product that I ever bought was their Lash Line Ink. Back then, they didn't have a very big makeup range but that has definitely changed! Pixi now do collabs with youtubers and they release more and more makeup products every year. They are killing it with their releases and I love that everything is reasonably priced. Thanks to their very generous PR parcels, I have now amassed quite the collection (not everything is pictured above), which I want to share my thoughts on today. 

Eyeshadows:

I'm kicking myself for forgetting to include the Liquid Fairy Lights in the photo because I absolutely love them if I want to add some sparkle to an eye look. They are so cooling on the lids when first applied and although there is some fall down, it's pretty minimal. They add a beautiful sparkle to the lids and are even flattering on mature lids for a night time look when some glitter is needed. Full review and swatches here.

In terms of the powder eyeshadows, I find that the shimmer and satin formula is creamier than the matte, although the latter is by no means chalky. I find that the shadows are moderately pigmented, which isn't a bad thing as the intensity can be built up with layering. The palettes are good value with 12 shadows for £24 and three shade variations available. Reflex Light is a warm toned palette, which contains some really beautiful shades, however I wish that it included some matte shades to make it a complete palette. As beautiful as the metallics and shimmers are, I cannot do a complete eye look without a matte shade. Natural Beauty, on the other hand, contains both mattes and shimmers. The shadows look very cool toned in the pan but actually, I think it's a neutral palette so most people would probably enjoy using it. My only issue with this palette is that some of the shades are very similar - so much so, that they look the same on the lid. That being said, if you are starting a makeup collection and tend to favour neutral shades, this is a good starter whereas Reflex Light is a bit more adventurous in terms of shade selection.

I have three eye brushes - a flat shader brush, a precision brush and a large fluffy brush.  I really rate these brushes - they are densely packed and really soft, which makes them very easy to work with. The large fluffy blender is my favourite because it's so quick and easy to create an eye looking using it. 

Eye liners:

I absolutely love the Extra Eye Bright Liner because it opens up the eyes but doesn't look fake in the way white liners do as it's a nice flesh colour. The Eye Define Waterline is another brilliant product because it doesn't transfer on to the lower waterline. I personally don't like liner on my waterline as I feel that it makes my eyes look smaller but I love tightlining as it makes my lashes look fuller. The Endless Silky Eye Pens are an absolute dream to use because they are soft in texture and seriously pigmented. Like I said earlier, Lash Line Ink was the first Pixi makeup product I tried and one I also repurchased. I love how fine the tip is because it's easy to do a fine line but can also be built up to a full on flick too. I have watery eyes and oily lids but this liner doesn't smudge on me - winner! 

Highlighers:

The Glow-y Glossamers are some of the most beautiful highlighters I've used (and I have A LOT of highlighters!). They really remind me of Charlotte Tilbury highlighters in terms of texture - they melt into the skin to give a very natural highlight. What I really love about them is that they don't settle into fine lines so they are suitable for those of all ages.

Blush:

The Glowcakes are gradiant bronzer/blush/highlighters, which add the most stunning flush of colour to the cheeks. They are lightly pigmented so could also be used as blush toppers but I love the glow that they give when worn alone. The formula is beautiful and so easy to work with - you just can't go wrong with these!

Lipsticks:

If you usually find that liquid lipsticks are too drying, you need to try Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lips. They are so comfortable on the lips because they contain rosehip oil, which is really hydrating. I don't find that they settle into any lines on the lips and they are seriously pigmented and long-lasting. They really are brilliant for anyone who wants the longevity of a liquid lipstick, but without the drying or crumbling that is associated with some other brands.

Makeup Fixing Mist:

Although the spray on this isn't the finest, the product itself is beautiful so it's worth buying but remembering to spray from a distance so your base isn't disturbed but also so that you aren't saturated with product! This spray is infused with rose water and green tea, so it feels soothing on the skin and smells amazing! I find it does a brilliant job of taking away any powdery finish and also adds a bit of dewiness to a matte base. Love it!
