Review: Omorovicza Revitalizing Scalp Mask

Omorovicza Revitalizing Scalp Mask Review

Regular readers will know that I am a massive fan of Omorovicza skincare and have been for a long time, so when they release a new product,  I instantly want to try it! I was kindly sent their two latest releases - Revitalizing Scalp Mask and Daily Vitamin C. I need to test the Vitamin C product for another few weeks before I can give you a full review but today, I want to share my thoughts on the scalp mask.

We take care of the skin on our face and, probably to a lesser extent our bodies, but our scalps are often neglected, which makes no sense! This product is a mask/exfoliator hybrid, which aims to exfoliate the scalp, soothe irritation, detoxify, restore moisture levels and nourish the hair.

It contains celery seed extract, which reduces irritation on the scalp, in turn reducing itching. It also contains Hungarian Moor Mud, which is an ingredient used in a lot of Omorovicza products - this detoxes the scalp. In addition to this, it contains a blend of essential oils, which stimulate the blood circulation in the scalp and apricot kernel oil and salicylic acid, to exfoliate and rejuvenate the scalp.

I love that it's in a tube as it is easy to use and to apply directly to the scalp. It's a pre-shampoo treatment so it is applied to a dry scalp and massaged in all over.  You then leave it for 10-20 minutes before rinsing but I like to give it one last massage before rinsing.  Because it contains menthol, it feels very revitalising and, almost tingly, on the scalp but it isn't uncomfortable and doesn't burn. It's also very easy to rinse without leaving any residue in the hair.

My worry with scalp scrubs is that they might strip my hair colour, but this doesn't at all. I find that when I rinse my hair and continue with my regime, my scalp feels very comfortable and, I may be imagining it, but my hair seems fuller. Omorovicza claim that it unblocks the hair follicles for healthier hair so maybe that is why but I just know that my hair seems a little bouncier and fuller when I use this mask. It can be used twice weekly but I find that once weekly works best for me.

My husband sometimes has eczema and psoriasis flare ups so I asked him to use it to get his opinion - bad move because he loves it and uses it a lot more frequently than I do! He loves the menthol feeling but also that the little patches of dry and itchy skin he had, are now gone! This will be a definite repurchase in our house!

The weather and the products we use can have an effect on our scalps so if you have flakes/dry skin/an itchy scalp, I would highly recommend giving Omorovicza Revitalizing Scalp Mask a go!
