Pat McGrath Lust Lip Gloss - the perfect lip gloss formula?

Pat McGrath Lust Lip Gloss Review & Swatches

I don't have a huge Pat McGrath makeup collection, but everything that I do have, I love! Yes, her products are expensive but the quality is second to none. In the past year, she has been releasing sets of mini products, which I love because it makes the brand more accessible. I've wanted to try her glosses for a while so as soon as the trio sets were released, I quickly snapped two up - one for me and one for one of you! Enter here if you'd like to win! There are two shade selections - cool and warm. I kept the cool set for myself and the warm set is in the giveaway.

I've been a fan of lip glosses for a long time and for years, I didn't actually own any lipsticks, just glosses! In recent years, I've worn lipsticks more frequently but glosses will always hold a special place in my heart. I generally find a glossy finish to be more flattering than a matte (although mattes have come a long way) but I can understand why some people dislike lip glosses as some can be sticky and feel heavy on the lips.

Pat McGrath Lust Lip Glosses aren't at all sticky and they feel like a balm on the lips so they are really comfortable to wear. The formula is really smooth and applies in a non-streaky way. The finish is high-shine, which makes plumps the lips. They are moderately pigmented so they could also be used as a lip topper over a lipstick.

The mini trio contains the shades Divine Rose, Pale Fire Nectar and Dare to Bare.

Divine Rose is the most pigmented of the three and is a medium, rose pink with a fine shimmer running through it.

Pale Fire Nectar is a pinky peach gloss with a small amount of shimmer - I can imagine wearing it a lot in summer.

Dare to Bare is a very light pink with a duo-chrome peachy/gold shimmer. This is very lightly pigmented so will work best as a lip topper.

I'm delighted that I bought the set of three minis rather than just one full size for the same price and all three are shades that I will wear. The warm set that I am giving away has three deeper tones but I think they will suit most skin tones.

Are you a lip gloss fan or do you prefer lipsticks?
