Laura Geller is a brand that I feel deserves more hype in the beauty world. I have tried quite a few products from the brand and they have all impressed me. The price point is in the mid range - not quite budget but definitely not high end either, which is where I think some brand get overlooked as they aren't cheap enough to buy without much thought but also not a luxury brand with fancy packaging and a high price tag and cult status. The other brands that I believe fall into this category that I have already posted about are Stila and theBalm. Today I want to share my five favourites from Laura Geller and let me tell you that it was tricky to choose just five!
Filter First Luminous Foundation: This foundation offers medium but buildable coverage with a luminous but not dewy finish. It glides over pores and fine lines, rather than highlighting them and creates a smooth, even base. I find that it's very long-lasting and doesn't break down at all over time. It's quite similar to Armani Luminous Silk foundation, if you are familiar with that but with a cheaper price tag. Available from Beauty Bay, Debenhams and Feel Unique.
Dewdreamer Illuminating Drops: There are four shades of this liquid highlighter available and it can be used in a number of ways - under foundation (particularly if you are using a matte base), mixed with foundation (to add some glow) or as a traditional highlighter. It is a very runny liquid so if you want to use it as a highlighter, I would recommend applying a few drops to your hand initially and then using a beauty blender to apply where you want to highlight. It can be built up for a 'seen from outer space' look or applied lightly for some gentle highlighting. Available from Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay, Debenhams, Feel Unique.
Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator: This was the first Laura Geller product that I bought and I fell in love! Available in four shades, this highlighter is a powder but it has a creamy texture so it melts into the skin. I find that it is very flattering on the skin and because it is buttery soft, it doesn't accentuate any fine lines. For a very intense look, this works beautifully when applied over the matching Illuminating Drops. Available from Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay, Debenhams, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic.
Lip Gloss: There are two types of lip gloss available and I have some of each: Lip Lustre and Nude Kisses. I would describe the lip lustres as glossy lip toppers because they just add a hint of colour, whereas the nude kisses glosses are more pigmented. What I love about both is that they are non-sticky and feel comfortable on the lips. I find that the nude kisses glosses make my lips look full and plump, which I love. I find that both types apply evenly, which doesn't always happen with glosses so if you are a lip gloss fan at heart, I really recommend trying these. Available from Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay, Debenhams, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic.
Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipsticks: Available in 13 shades, these lipsticks are seriously pigmented and comfortable on the lips. They have a curved bullet for ease of application - one swipe and you're done! They contain a combination of oils, which makes the formula creamy but not overly slippy so you don't need to worry about it sliding all over your teeth and face and they have a satin finish. I find that they will last around 5 hours on me before they need to be re-applied and the formula is ideal for Autumn/Winter when the temperatures drop. Available from Feel Unique, Debenhams, Look Fantastic.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Laura Geller? What products have you tried and do you feel that the brand deserves more hype?
