Although the skies have been a bit overcast at times this week, it has still been warm and humid. Whether the days are sunny or cloudy, when it's warm, I will also go for a lightweight base because I don't want anything that feels heavy or looks too full in terms of coverage. I have three products that tick these boxes and that I will reach for when I want to wear some makeup.
Omorovicza Complexion Perfector: This is a new release from Omorovicza, which I was kindly sent and I have been loving it. Available in only 3 shades, I am using Medium, which is the perfect match for my skin. It applies beautifully with both my fingers or a buffing brush and literally feels like there is nothing on the skin. The coverage is very light - my freckles are still visible, which is a look that I'm embracing. It hydrates the skin and evens out my complexion, adding some glow but nothing too full on - it just looks like healthy, natural skin. My pores appear blurred and overall, it definitely lives up to its name - it really is a complexion perfector. Skin appears plump due to the inclusion of hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C helps to boost collagen production and protect against free radicals so this product is the perfect hybrid between makeup and skincare. It also contains SPF 20, which doesn't replace my traditional sun screen but it's an added bonus. I find that I can get around 8 hours year before I need to touch up, which is pretty good for a tinted moisturiser. £60 for 50ml.
Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation: This is my second tube of this foundation and I have another back up - that's how much I love it! It has a gel/cream texture that melts into the skin to give medium coverage and is so lightweight that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything. This is definitely a glowy foundation but it doesn't highlight any texture or pores, instead my skin looks smooth and healthy. It contains SPF15, which isn't enough to replace my regular sun screen, but it's a bonus. I find that it lasts a good 9/10 hours before I need to touch it up. £36.50 for 31.5ml.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream: Although this is really lightweight, it gives a solid medium coverage that can be built up if necessary. I get so many compliments when I wear this because it makes my skin look radiant, healthy and youthful. It's so comfortable on the skin and I love that it contains SPF50 as a top up to my regular sun screen. I personally don't need to powder it but if you have oily skin, you may have to. That being said, a matte version is soon to be released, which will be ideal for oily or combination skin. £30 for 32ml.
What are your favourite lightweight bases? Have you tried any of these?
