Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you will have seen Pixi's latest beauty influencer collaboration all over social media! The Pixi Pretties collection sees the brand join forces with Chloe Morello, Dulce Candy and Weylie Hoang, who have a combined youtube following of over 6 million subscribers. Each influencer produced two products and I was very kindly sent all of the products, which I have been using over the past few weeks and I want to share my thoughts on them with you today!
Pixi + Weylie Hoang Collection:
I'm starting with my favourite from the whole collection! Weylie designed the Dimensional Eye Creator Kit, which contains a 6 shadow palette and double-ended eye liner for only £22, which I think is a real bargain. There are 3 mattes and 3 shimmer shadows in the palette, all in warm tones, which I personally love. I would describe the shadows as moderately pigmented but they can be built up without any trouble and the texture is smooth and creamy, which makes them easy to blend. With the combination of both mattes and shimmers, this palette is suitable for both day and night looks - as long as you like warm tones, that is! I really love the dual-ended liner, with a felt tip at one end and a kohl on the other. The tip is very fine, which is ideal if you just want a thin line to define your eyes and it is really black, with great staying power. The formula of the kohl is creamy but not smudgy so you don't need to worry about transfer - I find it great for tight-lining. Overall, this duo is very impressive with an equally attractive price!
Palette Chloette:
I have watched Chloe for around 5 years now and think she is a very talented, not to mention beautiful, makeup artist so I was very excited about this release! Chloe got married earlier this year so she took some inspiration from the romance of the occasion when creating this palette as the shades are soft and glowing. In this palette are three blushes, 6 shimmer shadows and 3 matte shadows, which can be used to create depth in an eye look or for liner or brows. There is also a very slimline mirror on the edge of the palette. The top two blushes (Promise & Bouquet) are soft (almost crumbly) in texture and not very pigmented - which I personally like in a blush as they can be built up. The bottom blush (Romance) is a little stiffer and more powdery in the pan and I don't find it the easiest to work with. The dual pan shadows are extremely sheer, which I find a little disappointing but I guess if you are going for the 'soft, romantic, barely there look', which is the aim of this palette, you will like them. The top duo (Veil and Honeymoon) also work as highlighters and they are my favourite of the three duos. The three mattes (Knot, Unity and Tux) are moderately pigmented, which is great when using to fill in the brows but disappointing when using as liner. Overall, I am a little underwhelmed by this palette but I can see that it does live up to it's soft, glowing aim so if that's the look that you personally go for, you will enjoy this palette as the fact that it contains blush, eyeshadow, highlighter and brow products will make it ideal for many. £28.
Lip Icing:
The other product that Chloe created is this stunning lip gloss in the shade Cake. I'm more of a gloss than liquid lipstick fan so I had a feeling that I would love this and I was right! This is a non-sticky nude shade with a fine golden shimmer running through it that makes the lips look plump but without the tingly feeling associated with plumping glosses. I actually tend to wear it more as a lip topper than a standalone gloss but that's just personal preference. £16.
Pixi + Dulce Candy:
Café con Dulce: This is described as a multi-use palette because it can be used as a highlighter palette for the face but also as eyeshadows. The 9 powders in this palette are buttery soft and really beautiful to work with. They are also very pigmented and layer well too - I love a light dusting of some from the top row over the shades in the second row as a blush topper. I think this is amazing value at £28 because it can be used in a number of ways.
Dulce's Lip Candy:
I have never really been tempted by a lip palette because it just isn't practical to me, however I can see the appeal for those who are very into wearing a variety of lip colours or those just starting their makeup collection. This palette contains 9 shades, all with a satin, non-drying finish. They can be mixed and matched to achieve your own personal shade preference, which I really like because I love a nude lip but being able to add a bit more peach or pink to change the basic shade is great. Any lipstick lover would love this palette! £28.
