Today's gift guide is all about makeup and nail products. I have included some eye products but I will have a separate post on Friday with larger palettes, otherwise this post would be far too long! Everything here is under €50/£50 with most products being round the €25-30/£25-30 mark so hopefully there is something to suit all budgets!
As soon as I saw the Stila Written in the Stars set, I had to snap it up because I have wanted to try the Stila Magnificent Metals for so long and this set contains three deluxe mini glitter & glow eyeshadows in the shades Kitten Karma, Diamond Dust and Smoky Storm. These eyeshadows are perfect for the festive season - there are so glittery yet there is no fear of particles of glitter falling into your eyes and there aren't any gaps. They are also long-lasting and I think even those who aren't the biggest magpies will swoon over these.
I had to include Natasha Denona's holiday 5 pan palettes because there is simply nothing not to love about these eyeshadows! I love the gold packaging and the shadows inside are buttery soft, pigmented, easy to apply and blend and are long-lasting on the lid. They contain a combination of mattes, shimmers, and chroma-crystals. At $49, they are a lot more affordable than the large palettes and an ideal way for Natasha fans to try her shadows! Full review here.
Another really great 5 pan palette is Easy On The Eye from Temple Spa. This is beautifully presented in a gift box and inside are 5 shadows and a double ended brush. It's a slimline palette so would be perfect for your handbag and the neutral shadows inside are perfect for both day and night wear. They are pigmented and pretty long-wearing and whilst not as buttery soft as the Natasha Denona eyeshadows but they aren't at all chalky. I know that my Mam would love this!
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder really lives up to its name and would be the perfect addition to any makeup lovers collection. The powder is so finely milled and it really does have a blurring effect on the skin. It doesn't settle into fine lines, doesn't go cakey or look like it's sitting on the skin. An all round winner!
A really beautiful gift for blush lovers is Butter London Blush Clutch Palette, which looks like a clutch bag with beautiful floral embossing on the front and inside is a large mirror, three blushes and a rose gold highlighting pen. The blushes are all warm-toned - pink/coral/peach/bronze hybrid shades and are pigmented so a light hand is required when using them. The highlighting pen adds a subtle glow to the skin and is easy to apply and blend. This is a really beautiful cheek palette and would make a great gift!
Any highlight lover would be delighted to receive Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops. I have become utterly obsessed with these - they can be used under foundation, mixed with foundation or a drop or two on each cheek as a classic highlighter. They can be built up to achieve a "seen from space" highlight if that's your thing but they can also be used for a subtle glow.
You simply can't go wrong with a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. Everything about them from the packaging to the formula, is beautiful. The mattes are not dry or flat - they're the most comfortable matte lipsticks I've worn. Both types are very pigmented, creamy and pretty long-wearing, although like most lipsticks, they need to be topped up after around 4/5 hours.
Finally, for nail polishes lovers, this Butter London The Gold Standard Collection would make a fab gift! It contains four mini nail polishes and one full size glitter, which is perfect for the festive season. Butter London nail polishes are a pleasure to use - two coats to achieve full opacity with a glossy finish and they are really long-lasting. They are also free from Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde resin, DBP, Toluene, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene and TPHP. Butter London nail polishes are one of my favourite formulas and this is an ideal set for anyone who loves to paint their nails regularly!
I hope that some of these products have helped you tick some gifts off your list! Have you started your shopping yet?
