REVIEW: Molton Brown Russian Leather EDT

Molton Brown Russian Leather EDT review

The latest addition to Molton Brown's collections is a masculine one in the form of Russian Leather. In the range, there is a shower gel, single wick candle, 3 wick candle and an Eau De Toilette, which I am sharing my thoughts on today.

The Russian Leather range has top notes of black tea, elemi and purple basil, heart notes of Siberian pine, tobacco and birch and base notes of leather accord, vetiver and cade. They all combine to deliver a powerful, intense, smoky scent that is warm but also fresh due to the inclusion of pine. It's a very sexy fragrance that represents the modern man in a way that you might not expect a leather fragrance to do. Although woody, it's actually quite smooth due to the inclusion of leather.

Birch is included because birch oil was used for tanning and dying leather in a small number of Russian villages in the 17th century, hence the name - Russian leather. It smells expensive and I know that a candle from this range would be the perfect Autumnal home scent - not quite as smoky as bonfires but woody all the same. I can imagine cosy nights in with this candle burning and an open fire - it actually makes me want to embrace Autumn, even though I am a summer fan at heart.

Does this fragrance sound like it would appeal to you? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
