My favourite discoveries of 2017 so far, featuring Peter Thomas Roth, Buxom, Givenchy & more!

A cliché I know, but I can't believe that we are now in June! At this time of year, I like to look back at the first part of the year and see how much progress I've made with my resolutions - scratch that,  I like to look back at my beauty purchases and decide if I've chosen well and pick out my favourite discoveries and share them with you!

In terms of skincare, there has been one standout product and it's Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. This moisturiser contains 30% Hyaluronic Acid, which can retain up to 1000 times its weight in water and it literally quenches my skin's thirst leaving it soft, smooth and bouncy. This is the perfect moisturiser for anybody with dry skin and the bonus is that it doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy - in fact, it's quite light in texture. I will definitely be repurchasing when I finish this tub because it's the perfect moisturiser for my skin.

Cover Fx Illuminating Setting Spray: I'm so in love with this spray - it adds a certain amount of luminosity to the skin (as the name suggests) but it isn't overly dewy and it also acts really well as a setting spray, extending the wear of my makeup. It has the finest mist of all setting sprays that I have tried and it is alcohol free so it doesn't dry my skin out. An all round winner!

The foundation that has really impressed me is Givenchy Teint Couture Blurring Foundation balm. This has the comfort of a balm, which is perfect for my dry skin and it lives up to the blurring in its name by diffusing the look of the pores in my cheek area and gliding over my fine lines, it evens my skin and feels weightless on the skin, whilst offering medium coverage. It doesn't get much hype in the blogging world, but should! Review here.

Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder Modern Mercury Highlighter: I love everything about this highlighter - from the exquisite packaging to the shade of highlight to the finely milled texture of the product. Everything about it is perfect and I love the dewy finish it gives my skin - not a hint of glitter to be seen!

In terms of lip products discoveries, there are two that I have been wearing on repeat since buying them. The first is Buxom Full On Lip Cream Lip Gloss in the shade White Russian, which I have been pairing with The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder The Barest Contour Lip Liner in the shade In The Buff. The liner has a fine nib and is ever so slightly darker than my natural lip colour, so I can create the illusion of fuller lips without going too crazy with over-drawing them. The lip cream/gloss makes me lips look smooth and plump but it isn't overly glossy or sticky - it feels a little tingly on the lips but it isn't uncomfortable. I'm obsessed with this duo!

The other lip product that I am loving is the MACxFleurdeforce collab. I'm a huge nude lip fan so I ordered this as soon as it was released only to find out two days later that it was sold out and my order was cancelled! I was so disappointed but I saw on Fleur's Twitter that she was hoping to get lipsticks to the people that this happened to and, luckily for me, she was true to her word! I think this speaks volumes about her character and connection with her audience. The lipstick itself is a true nude - not too cool, not too warm, not overly brown or pink and I love it! It's now a staple and will be staying that way for the foreseeable!

I bought quite a few new eye brushes a few months ago and the standout ones for me are from Callanberry. I only have two but I reach for them a lot more often than any of my other brushes because they are so soft and they just make doing eye makeup a very quick and easy task. I can blend harsh edges with very little effort.  I definitely need more of these in my life!

Finally, I had to include Kérastase L'Incroyable Blowdry. This has been a game-changer for me! It is a styling lotion that feels weightless in the hair, yet it holds the style in place until it is next washed. I never really bothered using my curling wand prior to using this because the waves disappeared after a few hours and likewise, I found that my hair didn't really stay straight but this has changed all of that. It acts like an invisible hairspray - holding the style even if I tie it up for showering/baths etc. Review here.

So those are my favourite discoveries so far this year - I would love to hear yours?
