A Sephora haul & first impressions featuring Peter Thomas Roth, Herbivore Botanicals, Kat Von D & more!

There haven't been many new releases in recent times that have tempted me enough to buy them and I'm tying to be more mindful with my spending because I have quite a large makeup collection already but when I received an email about the Sephora Spring sale, I couldn't resist buying a few bits! I have used everything so can give you initial thoughts on them too - some are instant loves! I will also tell you how I ordered from Sephora to Ireland in case anything catches your eye.

I had a re-stock notification about Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream so that was the first thing to go into my basket. This cream is comprised of 30% hyaluronic acid, which can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, making it ideal for dry or dehydrated skin. This is what my skin has been crying out for recently after the bad reaction I had to a product I was testing. This moisturiser literally drenches the skin but it doesn't leave it feeling greasy or as though there is a film of product siting on top of the skin. I will do a full review when I have been using it for longer but initial impressions are amazing.

I have wanted to try some Herbivore Botanicals products for a while so I started with Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask because Blanche from The Beauty Bloss raves about it and she along with Anne from Linda Libra Loca and Caroline Hirons, are my skincare gurus! This mask has quite a runny, gel texture and quite a herbal/medicinal scent, which I don't particularly like but it isn't a deal-breaker. This tingled a little bit when I first applied it but didn't cause any redness or sensitivity overall, in fact, I was quite surprised by how gentle this mask is considering the results. The directions are to use the mask daily for 3/4 days and then reduce to a few times a week. I used it 4 days in a row and have been very pleasantly surprised by how much softer my skin is and it has also helped to reduce the inflammation in my skin. Again, I will review further in time but for now, this gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from me.

I didn't really need another setting spray but when I saw that Glamglow had released one, I couldn't resist ordering. It is called the Glowsetter Makeup Setting Spray. I have only used this twice and initial impressions are that it doesn't give the glowy finish of Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, however that is a good thing for most people as I know lots of people find that too dewy. This spray does seem to extend the wear time of my makeup, add some glow without being too much so I think combination skins would like this, also the spray is quite fine, which I love. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the scent - it is very sweet, like vanilla cupcakes. It does dissipate but I prefer sprays that are either unscented or refreshing - personal preference!

I bought a Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in the shade Lovecraft, which is a mauve-pink nude shade. This has a really comfortable, creamy texture and whilst I haven't tested it for a full 24 hours (who wears makeup for 24 hours?!), I can say that it is the longest-lasting lip liner that I have used. I tried it both on its own and also under Lovesick Liquid Lipstick and neither budged for hours despite eating and drinking. I will definitely be buying more!

I also purchased a Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Nude Lip set, which was amazing value at $28, with a RRP f $62. In here are six lip products: a mini Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb, a Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian, a full size Estée Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner in the shade In The Buff, a mini Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Créme in the shade Slow Burn, a mini Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick in the shade Queen B and a full size Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993 Comfort Matte. I am absolutely hooked on the Estée Edit liner paired with the Buxom Lip Cream - the perfect summer nude lip combo.

Finally, I used 100 of my points to order a mini Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer as I have been meaning to buy one for quite a while. I haven't used it yet, but will let you know my thoughts when I do.

Overall, I'm really happy with everything I bought and I know I will use them all so I don't feel bad about adding them to my collection. I was able to place this order using MyMallBox - actually I placed two orders and they consolidated them into one package (at my request) to cut down on shipping fees, which in this case amounted to $31 because I chose the fastest option. There are less expensive alternatives available. Also, there were no customs charges. I paid for this service myself, however I have a referral code if any of you want to use this service and if you do, you will receive a $5 bonus to your account to put towards your shipping fees. This code is here, however if you wish to sign up without using the referral, the site is here.

Have you tried any of these products? What have you been buying recently?
