I've been shopping my stash a bit more recently because I honestly have so many beautiful makeup products that are being neglected. I want to try to actually use more of the products that I have already bought rather than just constantly adding more products to my collection. Today I want to share the old products that have made their way into my top drawers in recent weeks.
The product that really prompted this post was the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani blush palette. I was watching one of the beautiful Chloe Boucher videos and she used this palette and I realised that I had actually forgotten that I own it! This palette contains a mixture of blushes, highlight and one bronzer (all depending on skin tone) and I love the combination of shades. I particularly like wearing Cherry & Hush together but all of the blushes are very wearable. This will stay firmly in my top drawer for the next while and I'm delighted to have rediscovered it.
I love Too Faced eyeshadows and recently dug out their Natural Matte Eye Palette because I'm mainly using matte shadows at the moment. I love everything about this little palette - the texture, pigmentation and variety of shades - particularly the middle row of Lace Teddy, Strapless & Risqué, I don't know why I had forgotten about this palette because I was obsessed with it when I first bought it.
For an easy, natural contour, I love the convenience of the Smashbox Contour Stick. It's a really quick way to add some definition to my face and a cream product is really suiting my dry skin at the moment. If you aren't very talented at contouring or just prefer a more natural look than Kim K-W, then I would highly recommend checking these out. This is the perfect shade - not too warm or not too grey - just right to create a shadow.
The final rediscovery is Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Gloss Lip Lacquer in the shade Sugar Sugar. I absolutely love this gloss - it is pigmented, quite long lasting (for a gloss!), has a high shine, is non-sticky and make my lips look fuller. I adore this nude shade because it goes with every makeup look but without the concealer lip effect!
I'm really glad that I've rediscovered these products and I am going to continue to "shop my stash" and rotate my products in my collection to make sure that I get more use out of them and if there are some that I really just don't use, I will pass them on to others who will. It is easy to get caught up in a frenzy of excitement with new releases but I need to be more mindful with my purchases, particularly in makeup because I have such a large collection.
Do you shop your stash often? What have been your favourite rediscoveries recently? I would love to hear in the comments below!
